Movies where the mentor
Tells the novice of how
Life is like the ripples
Caused by some rock
Tossed into a lake.

Yet even the mentor
Sometimes forgets how
The rock feels.

While your world is
Rippling
The rocks world is
Sinking.

While your world
Settles
The rocks world is
Forgotten.

And a hundred years later
After the lake drys up,
After even the rock has forgotten
His own victimization,
Some new mentor will use the rock
To prove a point to some new novice.
