Hello All,
I don't have much time today to update, but I have a good five minutes, so here goes.

Today, my Hist. of Mexico teacher said the most hilarious thing in the world. We were talking about Maximilian (the Austrian Prince w/ no throne that came to Mexico and was brought into power by the conservatives under the French in 1862) and she was saying that because he didn't have a throne that people saw him as "Euro Trash." We couldn't stop laughing. It was so hilarious not only because none of us have heard that term in a while, but also because the teacher was saying it, and saying it about an emperor no less. It was great!

Anyway, so here's what I'm up to w/ the homework scene. I am working on WWII readings for Women's History, including The Diary of Anne Frank, Exile and Identity, and four books on the Holocaust. After that, I have a few more books on the deportation of Poles to Siberia. I also watched a video on Women in France (an in class, optional show up day) and one of the boys bought pizza for the whole class, which made my day. For Hist. of Mexico I plugging away at the texts, two outside books, and tons of blackboard discussion. The book Human Tradition is very good if any of you are interested in Mexico's history. For Braddock's class I am currently reading my fifteen weekly books and bitching about the class, while writing notes back and forth throughout lecture, just because it pisses him off. (Yes, it's like high school, but I must say he deserves it) I am also about to start Orientalism, the last book (I hope) I have to write a report on. My English methods class is great! The teacher is fabulous and wants a copy of my lesson plans and unit plan for her portfolio. I only got a 90% on the mid-term, which surprised me, but she wanted us to regergitate the text and unfortunately I expanded upon it. Who would have thought using your brain was unwanted in school? I asked her about it, and she said if I wrote up an explanation for each of my answers, that she would look it over and give me points back. As for my British Lit class, I am reading up a storm in there too. I just finished Conrad's Heart of Darkness and Achebe's Things Fall Apart, a re-read of Wide Sargasso Sea, twenty short stories, a few poems, blackboard discussion, etc. Soon I will be starting Moth Smoke, but I also have to read five more classics by next friday. Homework is killing me this semester, but at least I can see the end and know that some of it is useful.

Well all, that's about it. Back to my books and on with laundry, lunch, cleaning out my car, changing, picking up Linds, and heading to dance. After dance, then it's off to work, where I hope it is slow so I can illegally work on homework. Wish me luck!
