Thanks to a good friend of mine who lives next door (Toby), told me that there was a business called Party Disc Wollongong looking for a couple of potential people to become a DJ. He got offered training but said he couldnt take being a DJ with his current job and hours he has to work each week. So he told me they are still looking. And yah, me and toby phone up this morning, I talked to the boss Greg. I told him about myself and what I do. Then he asked me when I can come in for a small interview and introduce me to what they do. I said when ever is suitable for me.. So he told me to come in before 12... Gave me the address and off I went.
Suprisingly, they're located in Albion Park right next to the airport. I get there, go in, the first person I meet is Greg. I follow him into his officeness. Introduces me to his secretary, etc. We sit down and starts asking what I know about music, what I listen to, what I do for a living atm, stuff like that... very good conversation. He goes onto talking about all the different types of occasions they cater for, dress codes for DJ's, how to interact with the crowd.Then he goes and gets a regestration form for me. Tells me about how i'll be starting... He's actually ACCEPTING me on board. Not like anyone else in the past where i've attempted to seek a job opportunity. Fuckers!
Anyways, back on track. He's going to put me through some training, and at first, get me to tag along with other DJ's to gigs to see what they do. Then after some training, i'll be in charge with a experienced DJ to assit if i'm having trouble. Tomorrow Greg is going to phone me about when, where, and which DJ ill be tagging along with.
I'll be posting in the future of how it's been going with it, etc.
