Long story short - my mom almost died. She is still very sick. I'm still very stressed out and scared and worried. Some of my friends have totally come out for me in the last 2 weeks and been absolute wonderful rock stars....and some have totally flaked on me. I'm sorry your mom has been so sick. I can understand why that would be so stressful. I'll pray for her (and you!).

Times like those always remind you who your true friends are. When Scarlett died, I had to learn that the hard way. It sucks that it takes something like that to learn.

I hope your mom is better than ever, soon and that you are able to come to peace about the depth of your friendships. Although we haven't seen each other in years I think you are fabulous and I totally <3 you!

Yeah, it has totally taken me by surprise that some of the people I thought were my closest friends and I've bent over backward for more than once have not bothered to be there for me through this. And "this" is not over yet. She still has a long road ahead to recovery and there is always a chance that her body won't be able to fight off an infection because she is so weak right now. It's an every day fear and "how's mom this morning/afternoon/night" thing and I'm stressed beyond belief. I've been EXTREMELY disappointed in two friends in particular but saddened by the lack of caring by way more than that. My problem is that I care TOO much and I have a hard time deleting them from FB, LJ and my life. Blah ( ... )
