I can get over the 5 episode thing. I know the BBC has funding issues and I'm just happy they've not cancelled Torchwood. I'm really pissed about the supposed switch to Beeb 1 and please-god-no family-friendly turn Torchwood is meant to take? And why do they need to rob Dr. Who's cast? I can kind of see how easy it'd be to switch Martha in but c'mon. Why not some new people?
If they hadn't killed off two people they wouldn't need to bring over the rest of the DW cast. *grumps*
I guess I should be happy there were more than 5 episodes for the other seasons, it seems like a lot of BBC shows I've watched only have like 4-7 eps in a season (IT Crowd, Black Books). Still, I don't like to be downgraded.
I agree. I think I could have given up Owen, but Toshiko's death seemed pointless.
I read a blog earlier this week from a person affiliated with BBC. The sci-fi shows are the most expensive and BBC is publicly funded. So, really, we have to be glad it's coming back at all since Torchwood is the least successful of the three shows. They are wrong if they think making it more kid-friendly is the way to get viewers though.
