Edinburgh & Violence

Hello,

Well, we did it! We had lots of fun, two weeks in a caravan, 13 shows (one cancelled due to illness), 3 appearances on the royal mile stage (one went ok, one went well, one was aweful).

Those of you who saw the show will know that it's very odd and quirky - so it's not a suprise that some people loved it and some people hated it (the people who hated it tended to be Theatre types who I think were expecting something a little more serious hehe).

Next year we'll probably put more jokes in and list it under comedy (if we do another one next year) and I may do 25 mins for a week (sharing with someone else).

I'm also currently working on a new character act called Aaron son of Karen a medieval bard character playing songs and telling stories about legends and orcs. The idea being it's a versatile character I could take to comedy gigs, festivals, folk gigs... Funfunfun :-)

In other news, I got beaten up (not badly) on the toe-path near where I live yesterday. A kid was having an argument with his Dad, stormed off the barge and took it out on the first person he saw. I'm not hurt, but was a bit shaken yesterday. After much deliberation I decided not to report it, the Dad is not a nice man and there were no witnesses, but they're not allowed to moor where they are, so we're going to wait a while and then get the Waterways people to move them on.

On a lighter note, I've got a gig in Yeovil tonight :-)

I'm busy trying to write stuff for Aaron, get my outfit and a new instrument and then I'm going to start doing open spots as him.

Hope you're all well,

Owen
