I don't know what magic is either. I grew up... sheltered, I guess. I'm only just now getting to know the rest of the country because of the rebellion. Is that a District 1 or 2 thing?

*snorts* No, I'm from 12, where you can starve to death in safety. 1 and 2 have the best stuff, the most money, the most food. They're the most far removed from how we live in 12, so I figured they would have something I'd never heard of. The Districts aren't as divided anymore, though, now that the rebellion is over. I'm remanded to 12 for, um, assassinating the president. She ordered the strike that killed my sister and hundreds of other children and innocents, so I can't say I'm particularly sorry.
Magic sounds... I don't know. Dangerous? I'm just starting to understand some science, and that terrifies me. I'm more than a little paranoid about the unknown.
That sounds like a terrible place to live. Seem to me like you did the right thing, taking out your president. And I'm sorry about your sister. I have a little sister, and if anyone hurt her... yeah, I'd wanna get the person who did it too.
Yeah, well, try living with it. Demons, witches, curses, magic, people who can turn into animals... it's a handful. You're probably lucky you don't have to deal with it. Especially if science is weirding you out, sorry, terrifying you.

I'm not so much afraid of science as I am of what people do with it. I love electricity and telephones and trains. I'm afraid of nuclear weapons, muttations, nerve gas, and so on. It's more like... the way people's brains go when they're angry, I guess.

Well, they can turn themselves into dinner, I guess, if you think of all animals as food. Bears, wolves, that sort of thing, that's what I've seen. And yeah, demons are bad. Mostly, anyways.

Oh, that makes sense. And me too, dude. Science in the wrong hands can cause some major damage. People don't even need to be angry to do bad things with it. Try megalomaniacs or desperate people. And I mean, even people who think what they're doing is right can end up doing bad things. Ugh, people sometimes.

Of course not. I'd never hurt anyone. I use magic to help people. Or at least I try. I'm only just learning how. But evil witches are a stereotype. Okay, some are evil. I've actually met a couple evil ones. But most of us are not bad at all.
