So! Stick him in a CFUW kill game and let the fun happen! (aka: I fail at thinking these things through before I sign up for them) Moreover, he got to know Prussia a little better, and he liked him, and then finally pinged onto that Canada and America were in fact, the tiny!kids he met in the snow one time, and that also Prussia and England were emotionally connected to those two. Which, honestly how would you feel if that to do your job you had to kill two people you met as children (that you liked), and that in doing so it would affect another person who you respected. Also, add in the fact that to save the most people, you and the people on your side should go out, not the sheep. To sum it up, yeah, guilt, boatloads of guilt. For him dealing with the bodies was one way of dealing with his guilt, but it also affected him in ways related to “holy shit I’ve never seen a dead body like this” because the zombies don’t really count. So, he was a teeensy bit broken by the time he was ousted, and honestly wanted to get taken out in a way

I have mentioned that when he’s hurt, Kuhn tends to not notice other people’s feeling as much, yes? He’s horrible at thinking of other people when he’s dealing with his own crap, it’s a major flaw of his, and the one thing he shoulda worked on when he was growing up. So he wasn’t much good helping his teammates in the cell. However even when he’s failing at helping people, he sometimes has a decent sense of how other people would react to him, and for the most part when he’s gone to Cielo for help... well it doesn’t pay off really. He’s terribly fond of Cielo, but for the most part Cielo hasn’t lowered his defenses and just talks “surface conversation” with him. He didn’t really weigh the pros and cons of who to be vulnerable with, he just went with his gut and that told him Bat would be the slightly better option then Cielo. Considering he was wrapped up in himself like he normally gets when he’s hurting, he didn’t even notice the problems Cielo might’ve been having. If he had, he would’ve shoved his problems down to go help him. (

♥ Yeah honestly if I'd thought through Cielo's reaction at being in a CFUW kill game, I'm not sure I'd have done it. But then there'd be one less essay in the world and wouldn't that be tragic! XD

I know, like halfway through the game I thought "JESUS WHY DIDN'T I THINK THERE MIGHT BE ANGST BECAUSE OF THIS?"
And the times when he's come to him... offhand I remember he pretty much came out to Cielo, among other things. In general though he gets the impression of "Don't even try, he's walled off more then you are".
That's sort of true, he does focus on one person for awhile, but if he feels things are secure or something comes up, he'll shift his attention to another person he cares about. For awhile he was around Haseo (before camp), then it was Pi, then Heat, then Jinana, then Heat again, then the other members of the Embryon, then Bat, then he's coming back around to being more interested in the countries and the people from his world, I think?

Yeah true! Cielo didn't really...have any experience in dealing with stuff like that so wasn't that good. But yeah, Cielo's...I dunno. There are times when he's really open! But he'd rather avoid negative talks when possible and he doesn't open up around people he doesn't know well that well. And Kuhn's borderline enough that he's not the first guy he'd go to when upset usually. He's Heat's comrade and so he accepts him and trusts him, but they've never really hit it off that well!
Oh oh! I forgot.toppedbyzaworldFebruary 5 2009, 04:48:46 UTC
It's also a side note, but now since I picked up some of the aftermath threads, there's a little bit of a damage on the relationship dots for the Embryon too, hate to say it. There was a lot of "listen, a comrade is there for them excexc" and... well, there's pretty much just the people from his world there. Now he understands that! In a normal world people don't have the strange way of viewing things that the tribes seem to have, but after getting a lot of signs (including two gifts that were orange) that he was welcomed into their group... well, it makes him think along the lines of, "oh man did you think too much into what they were saying or what? You should've figured it wasn't like that." It's not significant damage, he'll still defend them and care about them just as much, just he'll figure that it's more on his side then them, which he does understand.

Yeah, that's hard to argue with! I mean, I would assume they checked up on him after Cielo woke up, though probably offscreen (you probably wanna check with Heat on that admittedly. I know Sera already did XD) but Cielo...well, is going to be more important to the Embryon than Kuhn! I mean, they've been together their entire lives. But yeah, I agree.
