Cielo's not quite sure what to make of Kuhn at the moment! I mean, yeah he likes him, yeah he's a comrade (or maybe more a comrade's comrade - he knows that Heat considers him a comrade and therefore he does, because that's what you do with comrades, but he doesn't feel terribly close to him, generally.)
And I mean, Cielo's not inclined to interfere in people's relationships. Loving people who're technically your enemies is honestly pretty common in the Embryon! I mean. Technically both Jinana/Argilla and Lupa/Gale were enemies, even if they refused to accept it. Gale's also in love with Angel, which you know I'm pretty sure Cielo's noticed, even if no one presses him on it. And so Cielo has lots of models for how people can fall in love with enemies! Even psychotic ones trying to destroy the world. So on that aspect of it, Cielo's inclined to butt out and figure Kuhn's an adult, he has to decide what he needs for himself. And trust him to set his priorities right. I.e. Embryon > Bat RIGHT?
Except that Bat's, well, Bat. He's a traitor, he's a psychopathic asshole who Cielo can't stand, and he seems to be trying to destroy Kuhn's ties with the Embryon. In Cielo's mind, the lowest forms of life are traitors. I just. Can't even put into words how little Cielo thinks of Bat. And none of Cielo's encounters with Bat have improved his opinion of him.
And of course, the fact that he found out about it from Bat after he molested Cielo under the mistletoe didn't help matters! He was already feeling pretty negatively towards Bat, and the fact that Bat was really pretty clearly trying to destroy Cielo's trust in Kuhn makes him even more distrusting of the whole relationship.
So basically Cielo's wary of this whole thing. He...really doesn't even get Kuhn's whole WELL IT'LL END EVENTUALLY WHEN HE BACKSTABS ME SO I'LL SUPPORT HIM UNTIL THEN. Cielo expects relationships to last until one or both of them dies. He doesn't get why Kuhn would get into a relationship that he acknowledges could well be temporary because of Bat's backstabbiness, he doesn't trust Bat's intentions in all this in the least, and honestly he's lost some respect for Kuhn out of the whole deal. Because wtf why would you date someone like that?
...okay this turned into an essay on why Cielo thinks Bat/Kuhn sucks. BUT ANYWAY, besides that, he does like Kuhn! I'm pretty sure he does see Kuhn's smiling face for what it is, a mask that Kuhn uses to make him feel better, and he identifies with that and thinks it's nice having someone else around that does that. If it's occurred to him that Kuhn thinks of him as a kid, he'd be insulted, but it probably hasn't because Cielo doesn't think of himself as a kid and even though he has noticed that other people think of him as a kid here in camp, he just...doesn't.
So you're going to return the favor and relationship meme about Cielo right? And also I still want to know what Kuhn would think about Cielo and Bat under the mistletoe. :D
And -hahahaSOB yes it’s essay tiem. It might detract from Cielo though since it’s touching on a larger matter though (one I’ve been trying NOT to essay on even).
Kuhn would freak if he heard about that, to put it bluntly. Even if he’s still in the process of trying to decide how mature Cielo is, Cielo’s still close to him, no matter how old Kuhn thinks he acts. See, Kuhn’s weirdly possessive of his friends, not in the manner of wanting to know where they’ve been or whom they’re with or things like that, but going after one of them gets him to retaliate pretty damn quick. The people who he considers his close friends can always count on him to have their backs or take a hit for them, in fact, one can compare how he reacts to one of his close friends, set it up next to the idea of a Comrade, and get a lot of similarities.
This is the part where one might claim that they’ve never seen this sort of thing happen with Kuhn when... well it has, in game even. Remember when Bordeaux was abusing the tiiiinyfurry? Note Kuhn didn’t get mad, he just told them they’d deal with it and then sent a note to Gabi without telling anybody, then coming with Haseo to deal with shit. Also note he didn’t lose his temper when Bordeaux tried to egg them on, for all that he’s protective of his friends, he doesn’t outwardly show it. What he does do is try to take control of the situation, find the people who can change things, and attempt to get them to change things by close to any means he thinks is fair... and since at that point he’s mafiaing for someone, that can sometimes be a lot of tactics to work with. All of this without telling the person and generally with the stubbornness of a very calm bull.
There’s also a lot of times where he looks out for people from afar, going in and making things easier for the person without informing them, like getting help for Haseo in Roots.
This is in fact how the whole Bat thing got started anyway. First he more or less met Bat by shooting to wound (not kill) with Jinana, and then the whole matter with Cielo sealed the matter, someone was messing with the Embryon, and he was going to deal with it. In fact, before they got to digging at each other, the entire point of Kuhn going to see Bat when he was chained down was to scare the ever loving shit out of him and get him to cut things out. Things... didn’t quite work out that way, and it’s kind of a giant blow to his ego that he wasn’t able to protect his friends and in fact made things worse.
But that being said! Yeah, Cielo getting felt up and skeeved at by Bat means Kuhn would try to handle the matter, and even though he doesn’t want to emotionally hurt Bat again, he would “inform” him on what the difference is in acceptability between not attacking the person and not attacking someone but egging them on.
...is it wrong that my reaction is actually d'aww that's so cute? No seriously I think Kuhn mafiaing scarily is adorable. And yeah, it does remind me of the Embryon! I hadn't thought of it like that.
Honestly I doubt Kuhn'll ever find out about it though, at least from Cielo. I mean, he didn't like it, yeah, and it wasn't really what he expected, but it's marginally better than getting stabbed and frankly Cielo didn't expect kissing Bat to be pleasant. The form the unpleasantness took was fairly irrelevant except for the ew factor. And so he's kinda whatever, could've been worse about it.
Honestly though, if Cielo knew that and trusted that, it'd resolve most his current issues with Kuhn. Because currently he's really not sure which side Kuhn would come down on in an Embryon/Bat fight, since from his conversation with Kuhn he kinda thinks Kuhn is Bat's comrade now too and of course you fight alongside your comrades! And honestly he kinda figures the occasional fight with Bat is pretty much inevitable!. He doesn't think about it much because he prefers to be optimistic, but just. Argilla, the rest of the Embryon, and Bat in the same enclosed area= YEAH THERE'S GOING TO BE FIGHTING GOING ON. I assume Kuhn would side with whoever didn't start it, usually?
