Part One
Me before lesson: Sensei, it's really embarrassing for me to let you hear this but I translated this song...
Sensei: Okay.
Part Two
(I'm singing, and my teacher's listening.)
Sensei (while I'm singing): You have to sing with more power than that, otherwise the meaning of the lyrics isn't gonna show.
Me (still awfully nervous and embarrassed): Okay.
Sensei: And you translated this?
Me: Yes. (continues to sing)
Sensei: You've got quite a knack for it! (Exact words: Sense aru ne. (センスあるね。))
Me: (is shocked and wavers halfway through the song, and fighting pleasure I manage to say:) Yay and thank you but the original is really awesome! (it's Amber's song you guys, she gets all the credit, I just translated the lyrics)
Part Three
Me: SENSEI THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO MY VERSION OF THE SONG, I'M SO GLAD I DECIDED TO DO THIS.
Sensei: The lyrics are really easy to understand, I'm a bit shocked at your sense. (He used the Japanese here; I mean, he only speaks to me in Japanese, so.)
Me: Sensei, what's 'sense' (in this case)?
Sensei: Well, it means that the Japanese fits the music and the lyrics go over easy.
Me: I could cry now.
Sensei: And the melody is nice.
Me: (gushes for about two minutes about Amber, lol)
Sensei: You should put this on YouTube.
Me: OKAY SOMEDAY
