a week well spent.
went up to new york on a whim at the beginning of the week and returned about 2 hours ago. it was beautiful. upstate new york can't compare to the blue ridge for me, but it has undeniable charm of its own. and my family! a week spent 'sitting around and drinking beverages', as my aunt is fond of saying. it's true. that's what happens when my family gets together. story telling and discussions about everything. brushing up against the profound and unintentionally waxing poetry.
and i'm a part of it. it's undeniable. there are pictures to prove it.
on the way home we listened to cajun music as i dodged trucks and babbled about booze. the sun was very close to being completely set, the land seemed very flat, and highway 71 looked uncharacteristically attractive, and almost surreal.
