So I put up Allyra's bed yesterday that I bought off ebay for $40 with matress and trundle bargain. At first I moved out her cot, set everything up and was pretty happy. Both the kids thought it was pretty exciting having a new toy to play with. Dean comes in and says you cant have the bed there because Allyra will play with the cords for the curtains. Annoyed I then rearranged everything. It looked pretty good when I was finished but man the bed looked big and she looked tiny. To me she still looks small in her cot but because she loves climbing and has been walking for so long I thought getting her a bed would be the safer option.
So to the test...... For her afternoon sleep I put her in the bed. This is of course the first time she has ever been able to get out of bed and play in her room. Soyou guessed it that was the first thing she did when I left the room. All is quiet until I can hear her out of bed and knocking at her door. I thought it was funny and kind of cute. After going back in there again and finding her smiling cheeky at me I tucked her in again. She had this big smile on her face so I knew she would be out of bed in two seconds flat again. I think after going in there four times she finally slept in there for about half an hour which I guess is pretty good for the first time but I was pretty stressed thinking how it was going to at night time.
We Deakyn went into a bed for the first time we were amazed at how well he was with it. He was alittle more older though so maybe that is why. But he also didn't start walking until he was 14 months old which is only two month younger than she is now. Where as she was walking 2 weeks before her birthday.
Anyway come night time and I put her into bed. She was fine as i walked her up the hall but as soon as she saw her bed and not the cot I think she was alittle scared. When I tucked her in she looked ready to play again and I thought man this is going to get annoying really quickly.
They go to bed at 7:30 and by 9:15 I was tired of going up and down and so thought ok cot tonight and I'll try again tomorrow. The one reason I didn't want the cot in there with the bed was because I knew she would see in and want to sleep in there. So I'll see how I go today, maybe I'll try bed in the day and cot at night. I still need to get one of those bed safety guards and so I'm watching them on ebay as well. We priced them yesterday and they were $56 I couldn't believe it, what a rip off thats more than i payed for the bed.
Anyway that it for now its Allyra's bed time wish me luck hey, I think I'll need it.
