so part of the reason i am a digital artist is because i don't really like dealing with reality. there, i said it. my friend stephanie, my oldest and best friend in the program, likes to make complex structures out of welded and hammered steel. i like pushing pixels around and pillaging youtube.
unfortunately, i am going to have a show in the spring which requires me to deal with real problems like measurements and shit. specifically, totally insane measurements, like 98x120 inches.
DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO FIND FABRIC IN THOSE DIMENSIONS????? i have tried: bedspreads. curtains. banquet tablecloths. the LAST thing i want to do is try to sew/chemically conjoin enormous pieces of fabric, so it would be NICE if i could work this out. i thought i'd struck gold last week when i found a place that sells their tablecloth fabric by the yard and it's over 120 inches wide, but i just got some swatches in the mail and they are so matte and gross. not prom, internet! old hollywood glamour/dubai on a budget! come on now google, help a neighbor! god i hate dealing with this.
