Okay, I have to confess that the first time I saw the National Organization for Marriage's "Gathering Storm ad, I thought it *was* a parody. I mean, no one in their right mind could take this:
seriously, right? It turns out, much to my horror, that I was wrong. That is totally meant to be taken at face value. Well, no one ever accused the right wing of valuing subtlety, I guess.
Luckily, however, Funny or Die decided that a parody was in order after all. Check out their response video, the Gaythering Storm:
I do feel like, in most endeavors, the side with the funny people is usually the side of right. That is, perhaps, oversimplifying things, but in this case, I'm glad they're on our side.
