But before I do that, did everyone see this report that, apparently,
teenage skinheads in Tennessee were going to shoot up a predominantly black high school before attempting to assassinate Barak Obama? Sometimes, I am utterly baffled by the deep wells of hatred and prejudice in this country. Baffled, saddened, and ashamed.
In far less depressing news, my brother has tickets to the World Series game tonight, and I am hoping against hope that they manage to clinch the series in five games at home. I can't even imagine what the hometown crowd will be like if they do. Go Phillies!
I'm sure almost everyone has seen this by now, but no one should be denied the chance to watch mummies with sunglasses! Failed synchronized dancing! Werewolves and monsters falling! In case you don't know, it's the new Panic at the Disco (homemade!) video, It's Almost Halloweeen

The video is really a work of genius, but the song is insanely catchy, and really well done. It sounds like a lost Animals or Strawberry Alarm clock single, with distorted voices and Hammond organ. I think it's the new Monster Mash. In case you can't get it out of your head, have a
download.
Speaking of Panic at the Disco and faily (adorable) dancing, check out Brendon Urie giving dance lessons, at about 4:00, even as it pains me to note that Spencer Smith is still "rocking" the Meathead Mustache:

I like how Brendon Urie goes from science to dance lessons while shaking his hot little ass, and -- as
this_is_my_name pointed out -- inserts a little disco finger innovation of his very own into his old-school punk two-step. But mostly I love how he's like the world's tiniest, most intense gospel evangelist of dance.
Finally, have a little Guy Ripley hanging out with the "Fall Out Boys" behind the scenes of the video for their new single I Don't Care:

And, for fun, have the Fall Out Boy video, too:

You guys, I am going to see Guy and his
alter ego in just two days! Live and
in person! So excited to see the
tall,
hot and
slightly more age-appropriate (if entirely
crazy)
portion of bandom on a real stage in front of me! Especially since I missed the
tiny,
hot and
crazy young portion while I was in Florida.
I am filled with glee and also with the spirit of the Great Pumpkin, which -- for those of us in the U.S., at least -- airs
Tuesday night at 8PM on ABC.
Happy Halloween!
