My So-Called Life.

Since Miss B is being kind enough to basically let me camp out on her PC this evening, I thought I'd do a drive-by (T minus six get-ups and counting to the new PC!) and say hey.

I had an interview today with a company that I first interviewed with not long after moving to the area. This job seems a lot more suited to my strengths, though, and they want to have me back for a second interview (and, hopefully, not three more after that) after everyone returns from vacation after Labor Day. At the very least, they said they use a lot of freelancers, and would be interested in looking at my stuff, so I'm choosing to chalk it up as a good day.

In not so good (but still hilarious) news, my bf's husband got laid off at the beginning of the summer, and it's morbidly fascinating to have someone to dissect bad interviews and worse jobs with. Today, for example, when he called to get the debrief, he informed me that his interview yesterday was for a completely different position than they told him he was there for. The world is a weird place.

I am feeling strangely homesick right now, even though my family, collectively, is driving me a little nuts long distance. I think it must be the long-term effects of the Stockholm Syndrome. Someone on the East Coast tell me how much the humidity sucks right now, please. I am missing my city of Brotherly Love (and brothers who will not communicate except via text message) something fierce right now.

Finally, in some non-me-related corner of the universe (good Lord, I should really change my LJ title to "Navel Gazing for a Thousand, Alex"), haven't both Burn Notice and Psych been terrific so far this summer? I'm really just enjoying the heck out of both.
