Today, in the U.S., the Sci-Fi Channel is running a Firefly marathon. I've been catching bits and pieces of it off and it, and it just confirms again how very much I think Fox whiffed on this awesome show.
I mean, I've been in love with shows before that have been canceled (goodbye, Miracles, Veronica Mars, Wonderfalls, Homicide) in mid-stream or, sometimes, pre-stream, but whenever I watch Firefly, I'm struck again by how rich the premise it, how deep the universe, and how very much there was left to explore -- not just the stories of the primary cast, but the world itself.
Right now, for example, I'm watching Heart of Gold, and there's so much juicy goodness about Companions, and their homeworld, and about the religious beliefs of the 'verse. It's fascinating, and I'm sorry that we never got a chance to learn more.
Speaking of, if anyone has any links to some quality Firefly fic, please let me know.
