Every man wears a mask, whether over his face or over his heart-- it conceals the imperfections of the past, that which we'd rather nobody else get to see.

It's his prerogative and the decent leave it be.

Hhm...

She's not "decent" in any shape or form.

Which is why she doesn't matter. The petty strike against their betters in whatever manner they can because they are too weak to do any more than that.

And for every rotten egg there's eleven good ones.

Hmph... that's the damn problem. She found a way to take me down when we fought too. Not that I'm letting THAT happen again, but... tch. She matters when she's threatening even my vassals.

Yeah well... there's at least 13 rotten ones around here.

Look. Everyone has a weakness-- you, me, her. The secret is to weather your own with dignity while searching for your enemy's. Let her think she's won for now.

And on that note, you have nothing to be ashamed of. To die for love... there's no sweeter poison.

Or several... Let her thnk? Maybe you didn't notice, but she pretty much won the second she posted that. She always wins.

........There's nothing sweet about it. I... I'm not ashamed of what she did...

Ha...! There's a contradiction there, amigo. If you're not ashamed of it, then what's the problem? Who cares if it's shouted out to the world?

It's bittersweet. The decision to die for someone is never made lightly-- and it is the most heroic of deaths. If nothing else, rejoice in the fact that somebody would do it for you. Meanwhile, people like Blondie have no such comfort.

Because I care! It's damn well not something everyone or anyone should know about! I don't need my past put up for all to see...

Hmph, I'd rather not rejoice... Damnit, she was my mother...

I suppose I can see your point there... That's when you employ the mask. The less they see it faze you the tougher your weak spot becomes.

The parting is never easy, but I'm sure your mother knew what she was doing and did so gladly. Death is painful, but a death of sacrifice becomes meaningful and priceless. To die with a smile on your face...

That's what made mine bearable, anyway.

Tch. I could have once... but even then... Geh, that's easier said than done. She'd been in my head... she knows things no one should know. How the hell do you fight an enemy who knows you as well as you know yourself?

............

.....What? You died...?

Private to If you ever try it you'll know I'm right blackmagicjazz February 20 2008, 07:59:46 UTC
That's where you're wrong. She has at most a snapshot of you-- but the mind is ever-evolving, ever-changing. You're a new person every time you wake up-- and she can never hope to keep up with that.

And I did indeed. I've been to the depths of hell and back... you didn't think I was just being dramatic when I said so, did you?

Hmph, it's a little more than a snapshot. Still... she knows too damn much.

...How did you... live again? Reincarnation...?

Reply

Private to How sad, you are so naive... blackmagicjazz February 20 2008, 08:18:31 UTC
Understandable. Like I said, the secret's in acting like she doesn't.

Not reincarnation, really... rebirth. As far as how, it's hard telling, since I can't remember a thing about it. Apparently, even unconscious, I clawed my way back from hell on my hands and knees.

Don't get me wrong, that man died. But some part of him just refused to die without his consent. And, well, here I am.

What good is that? She and I both know she does.

Hm... I guess there's no prinnies in your world. Weird.

You've got the wrong mindset, amigo. What's done is done-- but you can't tell me your thoughts and memories haven't changed since she had you. That is what you have that she does not, and that'll be your weapon against her.

And what might prinnies be?

Reply

Private to ...No. It's a technique that blows up enemies or even the whole damn planet if I wanted! overlords_wrath February 21 2008, 00:18:12 UTC
...What's changed huh? Hm...

Oh, prinnies are demons that are just shells with human souls inside them. A lot of humans end up as prinnies before they can be reborn.
