She could tell he didn't want to be here as she stood beside him behind the podium that faced the Dark Assembly. They'd been here hours trying to pass a bill, and the senators were being unusually difficult. While he was arguing, trying to seem like he was paying attention to their responses, she knew otherwise.

Hidden behind the desk, no one could see his hand brushing against hers. No one noticed his gaze darting more than occasionally to her. Nor did they seem to realize he was being even more impatient than he usually was.

Finally, the bill was passed, and they were transporting back to the castle, his hand clamped around her wrist, almost dragging her down the hallway. He didn't even wait for them to reach either of their rooms before he had her pinned against the wall, lips crushing into hers.

She accepted the sudden affection eagerly, wrapping her arms around his shoulders, and returning his kiss with as much vigor as she could manage. Finally, the kiss broke, and their gaze met; they were almost of the same height now, though she remained a frustrating inch or so taller.

"L-Laharl-san... W-wha... We're in the hallway, you know!" she exclaimed, a little surprised by his behavior. Affection not behind closed doors was rare for him.

"Dammit, Flonne... Come on, then!" he snapped, sounding impatient again, as he grabbed her hand, pulling her to his room.

Once safely inside, his attentions returned to her, taking her lips with his once more, but she pushed him back after a moment.

"What is it, Laharl? Why are you...?"

"Geh... I-I don't KNOW," Laharl replied to her, whining slightly that she'd pushing him off. "I just... Flonne..."

His voice had unexpectedly softened, which had gotten her attention. There was a wanting...a longing in his voice, she hadn't heard before. Why today, of all days, it was there she wasn't sure, but something about it excited her.

Flonne made the next move, wrapping her arms around his neck, and softly pecking his cheek.
