Hmm, badfic huh? Are you in the Kingdom Hearts fandom by any chance? Because Gethesemane wrote one of her usual "my self insert marries and bangs a guy who's a tool in canon" fics about it, and amazingly has left it up on her DeviantArt account.
I'm not in the fandom per-say. I played the original, Chain of memories, and the second game. For fun I sometimes keep tabs on the series. I have a friend who was; for a long while, a huge fan. Thus I am reasonably well educated in the series.
I know virtually nothing about the series besides the basic premise, so I can't say how badly she messed up canon. ^^; From what I've gathered, she wrote it before "Birth of Sleep" and it has Ansem's daughter Mai (who I suspect is the self insert) shacking up with Xenohart or whatever his name is. They have the usual lavish wedding, laughable wedding night, and she gets pregnant. That's all I remember.
I think you mean Birth by Sleep, but it sounds wonderful- And by the I mean it inspires wonder- And by that I mean what drugs has she been taking to produce this little "masterpiece"...

Meh, Gethesemane has a ton of fanbrats, who she actually apparently has sent to harass people who criticize her work. And I was reading her journal and found an entry where she bitched about getting so many "flames". One commenter asked if she'd please "innocently" post a link to the flamers' profiles so they could flame back. ><
Anyway it's quite clear the untalented prat has trained them well. They'll like anything she posts and flame as she commands. All well she acts innocent by making sure that she only gave the location and whistles about how cruel people are to flame her.
Talk about a sickening concept which honestly compliments her personality well...
Oh, she's messed up. And her character bashing isn't limited to her fics. I'm pretty sure she also hates on the *actors* who play the characters she doesn't like. She railed in her journal about how sucky of an actress Emmie Rossum is (keep in mind that she wrote a POTO fic in which Christine had died and the Phantom had taken up with her SI, a Sue named Faith) and how the filmmakers of POTC should have not paid Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly anything and given their salaries to Johnny Depp. -_-
I never thought I would hear of a Phantom of the Opera fanfic that was worse in concept than those that pair the Phantom and Christine until you mentioned that. I have to say she's gifted-ly bad!
Also she is totally right - they shouldn't have paid them. Because they can do that you know; give all the money to Depp. (Translation: Wow, she's nuts! She's like every bad fangirl/fanboy + fanfic writer stereotype rolled into a despicable package)
I have to say that my least favorite thing about her writing it surprisingly not the derailment, but the over the top faux sophistication/intellect she pours into everything. I suspect her favorite writing tool is a thesaurus.
and hell one line from the this one: The citizens were rather content with their city, and very proud at that.
At first glance it's just sounds kind of stupid. Now let it role around in your head for a moment and you begin to realize it's not only stupid, but also makes no sense. Also based on what she's TRYING to say (at least what I think she's trying to say) it's
Frankly part of me pities her though. She appears to spend her time online living in delusion. She can't be a happy person.
Still most of me hates her because she's such a foul human being about it. She is a lot like Meyer, funny how she doesn't notice.
What's really sad is if she acknowledged her flaws and really worked at fixing them; along with an honest beta-reader, ( you know instead of assuming everyone was flaming her) she could probably become a half-decent fanfic writer. But she's far to deluded with living out her fantasy of the week to even bother attempting to tell an entertaining story.
Oh right, I finished the first part of my spork (the fanfic is separated into small parts so I'm doing it two parts at a time. This one would be the prologue and part 1.) I shall be putting it up shortly.
I had a lot of fun and I think I've really improved too!
I'd pity her a bit more if she wasn't so effing scary.
Oh yeah, or at least be a decent harlequin writer or something. The thing that separates Suethors from actual authors though (among other things) is the inability to see what's wrong with their work and try to fix it.
Heck, I could even understand just writing terrible fanfiction for the blatant wish fulfillment of it all, but for heaven's sakes don't publish it for all of the internet to see!

I personally don't mind that some people put bad fantasy fulfillment fanfics up except when someone tells them it's bad they go rabid. I'm sure there are some people who put up their bad fanfics knowing they are bad and accepting that so I'm not addressing them.
They know the internet is free to view and most fanfic places have a place for people to review fanfics. What they need to learn is the it's the people who give you (realistic) criticism who are the people who care, not the people giving you a sea of praise.
Oh and I'm glad you liked it. It's been surprisingly easy thus far, but I get this nagging feeling; based on what I've seen, that it's going to get really bad...
And thanks. I don't know why I even did that joke. It was just she was the first person who popped into my head when I read the sues name, I just hope no one takes it as me bashing her, because I liked her and never understood some fans hate towards her.
It's a dollmaker for the various Avatar characters! There's all sorts of gorgeous clothes and accessories and you can caption it and move them around and everything. ^_^
