IC:
Character name: Aoyagi Ritsuka
Fandom: Loveless
Timeline: Soubi, Ritsuka, and the zero boys have just left in the car to meet up with Kio's kidnappers. This is pretty recent~!
Age: 12.
Appearance: Ritsuka is short. A lot of people comment on this throughout the series, but he always says that Seimei was big, and that he'll grow to be that height. He has black hair which is described as being strangely soft despite it being black (apparently black hair is usually rough). He has a slender build and... cat ears and a cat tail! Along with human ears. Those vanish once you have sex in his world. He's often seen bandaged.
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: Ritsuka is a sacrifice for the Fight/Sacrifice pairing, but the sacrifice hasn't been shown to have any kind of ability other than taking damage for the Fighter of the pair and giving direction. However, out of the two, the Sacrifice pretty much calls the shots. There's a lot about Ritsuka that hasn't been disclosed because Yun Kouga just likes to draw pretty cat boys without thinking about her plot. Let's all go punch her in the face.
Background/Personality: Two years before the start of canon, Ritsuka suffered some kind of accident. We say “accident” because Yun Kouga tried to lead some suspense about how it happened and then promptly forgot about it by getting distracted drawing Gundam 00 yaoi doujin, but the accident happened, and left Ritsuka without memories. Before the accident he was described as a fun loving kid who didn't do so well in school, but had a lot of friends and was good with people. However, after the memory loss, his personality changed. He was excellent in school, but he lost the ability to properly form social connections and was very cold to those around him. His mother couldn't accept this. She was convinced that Her Ritsuka was gone, and wouldn't accept what he had become, so she'd bite him and beat him, and his father simply slipped away.
Only Semiei protected Ritsuka, only Seimei ~*LOVED*~ Ritsuka, and accepted him for who he was instead of lingering on who he had been. But fast-forward some time and you'll find Seimei's burned corpse in Ritsuka's chair at school. Yeah. They needed to use the dental records to identify him. Fast-forward some more, and the story actually begins, with Ritsuka lost in his own world. He doesn't care about life, and he wishes it would be over. He goes to his new school and is cold to all the students who try to befriend him, including one Yuiko, who he makes cry when he calls her “stupid”. But despite Ritsuka's attitude, Yuiko continues to talk to him and follow him. That same day he meets Soubi. At first, Ritsuka is cold because this stranger is an adult (one who lost his ears) but the second Soubi mentions Seimei, Ritsuka softens up. Soubi eventually tells Ritsuka that he was for him, left behind by Seimei. And that Seimei had been “murdered” by a group name Septimal Moon.
Soubi and Ritsuka are targeted by several fighting pairs. Breathless, Fearless, Zero (female), Zero (male), and manage to win all of these fights, despite being “handicapped”. Soubi and Ritsuka don't share the same name, Soubi is Beloved while Ritsuka is Loveless. A fighter that fights for another name is looked down upon, so people often judge both Soubi and Ritsuka for their odd pairing. Ritsuka becomes obsessed with finding out just who killed Seimei and why. He follows clues left by Seimei and enters a game, where he trains his character to get up to a level to meet someone who left him a letter (they won it by fighting fearless).
He then learns that Seimei had two sides to him, and that Seimei might actually be alive. So he demands Soubi to take him to Gora, the school for fighters. They go there, along with Kio who gets left outside, and have to participate in an exercise where the fighter and sacrifice must call each other to find one another. Since Soubi and Ritsuka aren't able to call one another, Ritsuka stays with another of the Sacrifices who explains that there's a connection between a fighter and sacrifice. You see Ritsuka with this “thread”, which leads us to believe that Ritsuka's real Fighter Unit is somewhere near.
There's an intrusion in the school and all the power goes out, and everyone realizes it's Seimei. Ritsuka confronts Seimei who tries to get him to give in to him, but Ritsuka doesn't give in. And then Seimei makes Soubi break the window and jumps out like the goddamn batman. He gets Kio, they get Seimei's real fighter, Nisei. They go to exchange the two anddd...the world blows up!
Despite how young he is, Ritsuka approaches most things with maturity and intelligence. Because of the way he was treated by his mother and the sudden death of his older brother, he lacks innocence about the world. He's is, however, naïve about relationships and how functional relationships work, and sex. Love itself is a very uncomfortable subject for Ritsuka, he dislikes it when someone says they like him or try to show him affection. When Ritsuka decides on something, he decides on it. He has a very strong conviction and his opinions are firm. He's also a pacifist, he strongly opposes violence and the use of violence, unlike Seimei, who seems to use it all the time. It's often said that while Seimei and Ritsuka looks similar, they're as different as night and day when you take their personalities into account.

1st person sample: [VIDEO]

[the feed clicks on with a young boy looking into the screen with a slightly perplexed look on his face]

So this turns it on? No... not that... Oh! Is it on?

[the screen tilts as he shifts it, and he frowns a little now, done with playing with the machine]

Okay. So. ...What happened, exactly? Why are we here?

[he leans back and looks at the screen with another confused look]

I don't get this... Is this like a camera? It doesn't seem like it... ...how does this work?

...oh! Okay. I think I got it -

So. What is this place, anyway?

3rd person sample: Ritsuka glanced out of the window and down at the sidewalk below. There were kids running everywhere, but he was still in school, working on a project. He didn't mind. He had told Soubi not to come pick him up today because they were going to be working late. Yuiko had been having trouble with the book the project was based on, and had asked him for help, but it wasn't like they could go to his house.

Not when mom was like ...how she was.

He glanced along the sidewalk as Yuiko read another paragraph aloud from the English book and stumbled over the words. Ritsuka corrected her, and she tried again. He could see smoke, around the sidewalk, and he leaned up a little to get a better look.

Purple coat? Check. That was all he needed.

“That guy...” Ritsuka said while quickly looking away from the window, as though Soubi could see him. “I told him not to come.”

Questions?: Can you feel the love tonight?
