So I started my new job today at Homes.com. It sucks starting a 9 to 6er, but it seems really laid back. There's a ping pong table in the break room. If someone wants a break, they go play for 20 minutes. Also, some people seem to take a smoke break every 20 minutes or so, and some seem to listen to music or message friends while they work. Also if you come in late, no big deal. You can just make up the hours at the end of the day. The thing that interested me the most was that they said that you can move up very quickly, and a couple people just make advertisements or web design templates on Photoshop all day long. I would not mind that at all! One of the web designers told me that when he started, he only new very basic html and a dabble in Flash. So pretty much everything is self taught while you are there. I would learn a lot, and it would be more fun.
Seems cool, but I really REALLY miss Full Sail. It was such a great job, and I loved the people, and the fact that I could learn anything any time. Also, being able to work on Photoshop all day was great too, and I love how my boss introduced me to Guitar Hero when he brought his Playstation to work. I also got over one of my worst fears; presenting in front of people. I learned so much and I loved to teach others little tricks. It just sucks so much, knowing that I could still be working there, because I'm not even gonna be back in school until probably next fall. It's just so aggravating.
