What a day

My date happened, I can say it was a happy disappointment. We got to my
trailer, started the movie, and I got a frosty response to my effort to
get close with her so I left alone.
During the movie, it was a blast. She was immediately interested in the
plot and characters from the beginning and was asking insightful
questions. She got that the old woman at the auction was the ballet
teacher and not Christine from the first, something that I still get
confused. It was such a blast to share a passion like that.
After the movie, I told her bluntly that I was attracted to her and she
said 'Your married'. (a little tidbit of information that I did not
have before this date: she's a devout Mormon). Seeing it's
non-negotiable, I left it alone. It was a fun afternoon, if frustrating.
With the environment we're in over here, asking a woman to your trailer
is simply a thinly veiled 'wanna fuck?'. I can handle rejection a lot
better than this kind of reaction. I'm sure we'll see more movies in
the future, (hasn't seen Coppala's Dracula either), but in a public
place.

Then I had time to kill, so made some more whips.

Then got dressed went out to meet my ride to the ritual.
And waited.
For an hour.
There will be more Sam Haine's, but to be in a ritual of all soldiers in
country. It meant a lot. Plus I had things to take care of, a friend's
loss, the passing of my wife's father. I will have a private ceremony
on the actual day, but I don't see it being the same. It's what I get
for anticipating something.

Gave up on waiting, ate, finished the last whip, and came to work.

Get on the computer and try to get to live journal. Which is now
blocked. I did not need this fucking shit today. About the only way
I've got to keep in touch with people, and now it's fucking shackled. I
can post (obviously) and respond to comment on my posts, but other than
that I'll have to wait until after shift when I get to the goddamn
computer lab.
I've been expecting this for a while, but for fuck's sake the could have
picked a better goddamn day than today to pull this shit.

So, yeah, what a day.

By the way, someone respond to this so I know it has been posted.
