active community?

Hi...not sure if this is an active community, but I was hoping to come here to find some information as well as support. I'm a 31yo mom of a 7 yr old son, engaged to an awesome guy. In October, I had a malignant tumor, my ovary and my fallopian tube (left side) removed. Though the tumor was malignant, there was no sign of cancerous tissue anywhere else in my abdomen or uterus (a total of 6 samples were taken for biopsy). My question revolves around how I will know if my right ovary is functioning properly. In 2001, I had a very large (size of a softball) cyst removed from my right ovary and as a result the surgeon removed part of the ovary as well. During this recent surgery, my doc said that my right ovary has regenerated completely, but at this point there is no way to know if it is functioning. Tuesday is my 6 week post op visit. I still have not had a period. i had a day of very light spotting, but it wasn't even enough to stain my panties. My doc keeps telling me not to worry, that we will find all the answers to my questions in time, but I would like to know what the chances are of me conceiving again. She did tell me that there was so much scar tissue in my pelivic area from my C-section and previous laparotomy that she had to do a lot of disection before even finding my right ovary. Has anyone else had issues such as this? At what point do I start to be concerned about not having a period. I know that a period is not a confirmation of ovulation, however I feel like it would be a bit of hope for me. Also, as strange as it sounds, i am experiencing "phantom" pain on my left side. I would swear that it feels like I am ovulating, but that is impossible since I have no ovary there. Any advice would be appreciated.
