i particularly like the comment She is being punished for breaking the law. The rape is really incidental to it.
i think what bothers me the most about all of this is that her sentence is worse than her attackers. i realize that she broke the law, and im not going to judge that. but how is her crime more severe than kidnapping and gang rape and thus merit death by whipping (100 lashes is a death sentence. 200 and theyre just tearing apart her dead and bloody body)? *that* is what bothers me.
and, of course, the lack of outcry from the US. but really, thats not something to be shocked at anymore.
