[Background] here!

[Personality]

While Loki puts off the air (at least in the beginning of the movie) of a calm, passive person, that’s not exactly what he really is. He’s actually a great actor, liar, and manipulator. He is the god of mischief after all, and for a rightful reason. At times he creates small bouts of chaos, saying that it was just for “fun”, like when he let the Frost Giants in to ruin Thor’s coronation.

Though Loki was shown to show some brotherly affection towards Thor in the beginning, it was pointed out at one point that he had always been jealous of Thor. Thor had always been destined for the throne and to greatness, something Loki had always admired. It’s as he said towards the end, he had only wanted to be his brother’s equal, and if he had to do what he did throughout the movie to do it, he would do it. He felt that he had to prove himself both to his brother and his father, even more so after finding out that he wasn’t biologically related to either of them.

Speaking of which, Loki’s personality took a much more bitter tone when he found out that he was, indeed, adopted. He resented Odin for never telling him of his heritage, and it only sent him into a more destructive path of wanting to feel like he belonged. It escalated into attempted genocide of the Ice Giants, and when questioned about it, he stated that he had done it for Odin as well as everyone else.

His actions are almost always carefully considered and thought out. Unlike Thor, he doesn’t rush head-first into situations, but instead sits back and waits to make his move. His most useful trait is his mind - he’s always thinking of his next move, and planning. Even though it may not seem like it at the time, there’s usually a reason for his actions. It may be so small that it’s not quite evident that it is, in fact, doing something to further himself, but it is.

Normally, it’s pretty easy for Loki to talk to manipulate people into what he wants them to believe. Unless someone knows of his tendencies to lie (like Heimdall), normally they are easily swayed by his words. He can gain the trust of people easily if he feels like he needs to - and keep that trust as long as he can. He easily fooled Thor and his mother, setting up lies, but believable ones at the time. It wasn’t until others interfered that they had learned the truth of his actions.

Loki doesn’t like to get his hands dirty, at least not directly. He’d rather manipulate others into the deeds that he’d want to get done himself, instead of actually doing it directly himself. In the movie, his favorite targets of doing these things for him were the Frost Giants. He used them to interfere with the coronation of Thor, and again to send them after Odin to kill him. It was a ploy to only make himself look like the hero; he ended up killing his pawns when they went after Odin so he could say he defended Asgard.

To go alongside that, he’ll do anything to have his goals realized. Anyone who stands in his way, he feels little to no pity about the lives of others. In order to achieve what he wanted, he even tried to kill Thor, the one who he had claimed as “brother” for so long. Thor had become too great of a potential obstacle, so in order for Loki to keep on his path, he had to take action. If killing him was what needed to be done, he would do it.

Even when Loki is under pressure, it takes a little while for his temper to flare up. The one who really got the worst of his temper was Thor in the end. Loki was not only driven to near madness at his attempt of annihilating the Frost Giants, but he was also enraged at the fact that Thor seemed to have changed. Before him was a brother who had changed, and for what? A human. Loki called him soft, and when he realized it was Jane that had changed him, he threatened to harm her as well. The words had done what he had intended them to do - it also enraged Thor enough to fight him.

[Specialties/Abilities]

Loki is a master of magic - he can perform illusions as well as some other spells. But as stated in the above section; his greatest asset is his mind. He’s greatly lacking in the strength, at least in comparison to the other Asgardians. What he lacks in that he makes up with magic and tactical talent. He has daggers hidden on his person that he’s a deadly aim with if need be.

[Affection] I would advise affection towards Loki.

[Fighting] Mmmmyup. He'll probably end up fighting people here too, so.

[Other Permissions] To be honest, I don't really want anyone 4th-walling or reading Loki's mind without me giving permission first. \o
