Tyra wakes up suddenly, when someone else goes out of the room and lets the door slam. There's a moment of utter disorientation where she doesn't know where she is, or what happened, and she hurts, and then she relaxes back into the familiar feeling of Tim curled up behind her, his arm around her waist.

A fuckin' islandWell, girl...you always did ( Read more... )

The slam of the door isn't quite loud enough to wake Tim, but he does grumble softly when he hears his name, his arm tightening instinctively around the warm pressed against him.

And, then he realizes it's not Billy calling him and the warmth he's wrapped around isn't a pillow and his eyes snap open as he pulls back, his arm lifting.

Just friends, Tim.

"Hmm?" he finally grunts as he runs his hand through his hair, blinking blearily.

Tyra actually feels the loss of the weight of his arm around her and she threads her fingers with his to tug it back for a few minutes. She figures she'll have that conversation with herself later, remind herself of what an asshole Tim is later.

"Nothin'," she says, softly, mindful of the other people sleeping around them. "We can't stay here all mornin'."

"Mmm," he replies again because Tim really isn't the most eloquent people on a normal basis, much less when he's just woken up.

Taking in a slow breath, he pushes himself up onto one elbow, his free hand rubbing his eye. "Yeah. Probably some breakfast in the kitchen." Because there always is. It's one of the perks of the place.

Rolling onto her back, Tyra looks up at Tim, her hair hanging in her eyes.

"Breakfast might be good. Also, much as I love these clothes you found me, they ain't goin' to last another day."

He gives a quick half-laugh at that and nods before pushing himself up further, frowning as he notices the sheet wrapped around his legs.

"Can show you that box," he says, though already he's not looking forward to that. If she thinks those clothes were bad...

"Oh, right. The magic box." Tyra arches an eyebrow doubtfuly. "Sounds like a real eventful mornin', Tim."

Tim rolls his eyes and rolls away from her, his feet hitting the cool tile of the floor as he gets to his feet. This is the Tyra he remembers at least.

"Look, you don't have to believe me," he says, reaching for the shirt he'd tossed to the floor the night before.

An almost smile plays over Tyra's lips for a minute.

"No, no, Tim. I believe you."

Which, of course means that she doesn't believe him, but that's okay as far as he's concerned. She'll see it soon enough herself.

He tugs the shirt on over his head and straightens it out before nodding toward the door. "C'mon, I'll show you."

Tyra rolls off the bed, still fully clothed and follows Tim out the room. She's stiffer this morning that she was last night and she stretches her arms over her head, trying to loosen up.

He's already ahead of her, holding the door open and then following her through it, shutting it quietly behind him. Nodding down the hall, he leads her toward the stairs.

"We're sort of on the bottom floor," he tries to explain even though he told he that yesterday. "Laundry rooms up a few floors."

"Yeah, you told me that," says Tyra, starting on the stairs. "What is this place, anyhow? It's all a bit...fuckin' weird, isn't it?"

"What, the building?" he asks and then shrugs as he follows her up the stairs. "I don't know, it's just hear. Maybe the people here built it or something."

Except he's not sure how that's possible. Still, he hasn't asked and doesn't really know who to ask.

"Maybe they're pod-people," she says, glancing back at him over her shoulder. "Maybe we're in a...y'know...cult."

Tim gives a snort at that as he looks up at her. "Cult of what? Stranded people?"

"Who the fuck knows," said Tyra and she grins and she almost feels normal, for a second. "We're really stuck here, huh?"
