[Ever wonder what the Devil's feeling? If you choose to believe the event, he's feeling...

like a softly glowing cloud, plucked from a midsummer sunset and squished down to fit into that odd bubble floating over his head.

As for what he's doing? He's digging a hole. A suspicious hole, just big enough for a coffin.]

[Fran was minding his own business, walking around adstring when oh shit Satan again.]

...

Who are you going to bury?

[He turns, with only a politely surprised look.]

Oh, it depends.

Depends on what?

[He doesn't sound scared. If Lucifer wanted him dead, he would already have killed him.]

On if anyone stays dead long enough to be buried.

[He's the father of lies and origin of sins, but for today at least, murder isn't on the agenda.]

Oh.

Who made you angry?

[It's not like Fran could do anything if Lucifer wanted to kill him anyway.]

[Frown, headshake] No one.

You're all a bunch of rats in a wall here. Nothing to get upset over.

You know, sometimes death is good for something besides revenge.

Ah, I guess "rat" is better than nothing. Do you like watching us run around in our maze?

That's true. If you don't like someone. Or they're in your way. Or maybe if they want to die. Then I guess death would be good.

[He peers at Satan's bubble. Strange. The devil feels like sunsets. How corny.]

Nope. You see, I don't really believe in mazes. That's more the other side's hobby.

[He gives Fran a brief, amused look. Funny how that bubble never changes; it's like a painting, or something frozen in place.]

I forgot how pragmatic you are. Glad to see you haven't lost that.

More of a straight-to-the-point guy, then?

[Fran's still staring at the bubble, maybe even mesmerized. His own bubble has the exact same expression.]

Why would I lose it?
