Cooking disasters of 2005
Happy Lets-get-fatter-America Day!
Yesterday i attempted to make some desserts, one for Thanksgiving and one for friends for Christmas. I wanted to make Chocolate chip cookies from scratch and a pie for dessert for today. Oh man i was 0-2. The cookies screwed up in the mixing. I measured everything out correctly, but i mixed the butter with the sugar, salt, and flour...DON'T DO THAT!! The end result was bad. It looked ok in the center, but all around it looked like shit from a baby's arse AND it ruined the cookie sheet cause it had to be scraped off. So that was ruined. Then i try doing this peanut butter pie which was really quite simple but i made it complicated. It required pudding mix, and so i made the pudding and then did the pie directions. DON'T DO THAT!!!! It made me put in 2 extra cups of milk, and therefore the pie was ruined. 0-2 on my culinary skills.
I made the cookies again and did the mixing correctly and out of the batter i could get about 4 dozen cookies. The second batch taste great- so far no one has gotten sick. I gave some to the Bidingers and they gave me good feedback so i'm thinkin i'm ok.
Not much else to say. Lots of band stuff and music related stuff going on. I have to prepare for something up until May. Christmas music for December, Winterline music for all of winter, Solo and Ensemble music for February, piano guild for May, and i'm working on writing a trumpet part for my padre to go with a song i'm playing for my recital in January. Lotssss of stuff and the stress and overwhelm-ness has already set in.
Cottilion talk is already on its way. I'll admit, i do have my dress already. In my defense it was on clearance and i absolutely loved it. After going to 4 JCPenny's i found my size and it only cost me $60 for the dress. Hell yea! It's blue and blackish...i love it. Plus i want to get as much cotillion stuff done and out of the way before Florida so i'm not in such a hurry to get it all when i get back. Yup.
Wow it's been a long time since i've updated.
I hate chemistry too...just thought i would share.
