Vida is sitting at a table near the back of one of the downstairs rooms, looking pensive.
JD is in for a world-class chewing-out once she gets the chance, narration feels compelled to mention.
At any rate, she certainly wouldn't mind company. There's plenty of tea.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Captain Shakespeare smiles, a little giddy, after all, when he'd never felt so free to be himself before. It is gloriously freeing!

"Honey, I'm afraid they're not worth even that much," she says demurely, mentally shelving the plans for an intervention. "A pleasure, though, to have such charming company. I am called Vida."

"Please, the thoughts from someone as gorgeous as you must be worth so much more. I would have to say your style is just fantastic. Everyone in this Inn is dressed to the nines, but you, honey, take the cake." He bows to her, still smiling in appreciation.
"And I am Captain Shakespeare. It is absolutely lovely to meet you, Madame."
