The door of the Inn bursts open, a blinding light and loud roar barreling through before there is an almighty crash and then silence.
It takes a moment for any dust to settle; and then the motorcycle lying on its side disappears, so quickly that there is actually a chance that no one saw that part. Maybe they just see the tiny girl that had been

"What the... hell?" He looks over the coffee table next to him.
To be honest, he looks like shit. When he sleeps it's because he's passed out after he's had too much alcohol, he hasn't eaten much, and he hasn't done much of anything for several days now, preferring to hide up in his room.
"Bella?" His voice croaks from under use. "Are you okay?"

Her eyes are a little out of focus, and her head ... oh, god. Blood. The smell. It's making her nauseous, but she manages to get into a sitting position and smile. She likes JD. He amuses her, and there's not too many people she can say that about.
She tilts her head after looking at him for a second. "Whoa. Are you okay? You look like you've been going a little hard on the appletinis."
Forgive her. She's got no clue.

He stands, wincing, because he's got a headache again. It seems like unless he's drinking, he has this constant headache. He walks over to her, examining her with concern through his bloodshot eyes. At least, it's a chance for the doctor in him to make an appearance again. It's been a few days.
"Don't move. You're bleeding." He says quietly, kneeling in front of her.

She watches him warily, trying to stay still. "What are you going to do? It's the Inn, right? So I won't need stitches or anything? Or - or they'll be magical stitches, like actual butterflies ..."
Welcome to Bella trying to distract herself. She would remember to ask JD what the hell was wrong with him if he wasn't a freaking doctor with the potential to wield stupid needles.

"Are you feeling dizzy or nauseas at all?

But why isn't his voice showing up now?
Bella puts her hands over her face and takes a deep breath, deciding to grow up for a minute. "I'm nauseous. But blood always makes me nauseous. Why were you drinking?"

He'll tell her, eventually, because she asked, and he has no reason to keep it all a secret. It's just going to take him a moment or two to get into it. He figures stitching will at least keep him focused enough to not let him completely breakdown in front of yet another person.
He stands, scoots a chair over to her, and helps her into it.
"It'll be easier for me to stitch you up this way." JD explains, handing her a couple of pills and some water too. "It'll make your head feel at least a little better."

She figures silence will just get him to talk - a good long bout of disbelieving silence would probably do the trick on her - but then he's helping her into a chair and the dizziness she didn't have a minute ago suddenly makes an appearance. It's a little harder to collect her thoughts after that. Ingesting anything would not be good right now, so she just keeps the pills and glass in her hand.
"Motorcycle ... my first lesson." Bella grimaces. "I wasn't going that fast." Really. "But you - you look like you need this more than I do." She tries to press the pills back into JD's hand. The pain isn't really bothering her, it's more the blood. And the imminent torture.

He thinks up the tools that he needs, and manages to give her a gentle smile that practically reaches his eyes. "Don't worry. It won't be so bad. I'm very careful." Most of the time.
JD cleans the wound as best he can. Already, he's starting to focus solely on what he's doing, on taking care of Bella. He takes in a slow, easy breath, gently holding her head.

Bella catches herself just in time. She hasn't told anyone that the whole point was to be stupid and reckless. Telling a doctor seems like the height of stupidity. She takes the pills and pops them in, taking a long drink of water. "...Okay. Thanks."
It would be so incredibly nice to believe that smile on JD's face. Bella's smile happens to be a little sick. "I know, I trust you. I'm just ... not good with this stuff."
Okay, things catching on skin. Ew. Ew. Distract!
"Um, you - you never, uh, answered my question ... you don't have to if you need to concentrate, but, um, talking's always good, you know? Talking's really good ... um, what's your favourite movie? Do they have movies in your world? Why are these pills strong? How strong? Have you been at the Inn all this time? What was your favourite childhood toy?"
If JD doesn't catch even one of those hurried words, Bella wouldn't blame him a bit.

"Why I was drinking..." His laugh is bitter, but he slowly goes back to cleaning the wound. "Did I tell you about April? I met her here at the Inn. She'd killed herself in her world, and ended up here. We fell in love. I was going to ask her to marry me. I have the ring even, see?"
He's done cleaning the wound, so he sets down the cloth and antiseptic, and he takes out the box from his pocket and hands it to her. "You can look at it."
He sets up the stitches part of it, quietly, nearly out of her eye sight, but he's hoping the ring distracts her for now.

"Oh." No wonder he's so much less ... bubbly. Bella's voice is considerably quieter now as she takes the box. "I don't remember an April - she - she killed herself? And ... you can die here and still be alive?"
Sorry for the slightly brutal sudden interest, but that cuts just a little too close to home. Bella catches herself almost immediately, though.
"So ... so what happened?" She looks down at the box in her hand, then looks back at JD's face, smiling sympathetically. Obviously he's hurting, so obviously something bad happened with this April girl, but maybe talking about it would help? "In my world, marriage isn't all that great anyway."

Bella takes a moment to hyperventilate a little. So - if she brought Edward here - if - would he get his soul back? Would he be human?
Then she looks at JD again and sees tears in his eyes. That brings her back to earth pretty swiftly. Even if that was what it meant, it didn't matter now.
"Never mind. And of course she loved you." The strength in Bella's voice surprises her, considering she's getting scary stitches and that she believes Edward never really loved her. "She just ... she must've been confused." Bella's eyebrows furrow beyond her control, but she straightens out her face pretty quickly.
"Are you sure she made her choice? What makes this other guy so special anyway?" JD's been so nice to her, Bella can't help getting angry for him. "She sounds like the idiot, cheating on you ... that ..."
If there had been another girl for Edward, Bella has no idea what she might have done. Both death and jail could very possibly have been involved, considering how she's ( ... )

He's finished stitching her up, and he smiles, but its riddled with sadness and loss. JD can feel his expression wavering as if its begging to know why? Why try to pretend? "There. You're all stitched up Bella. You're going to have to leave them in for a few weeks and-"
JD takes in a sharp breath, because his throat feels as though it's gotten too tight. It's hard to breathe suddenly. This is the first time he's been doctor-like since... the... the incident. His head is spinning, and he closes his eyes, but he just can't focus, can't seem to breathe, the walls are closing in on him. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Die. Gonna die. I can't-

"... JD?" Her voice is quiet, and her eyes are wide as she grabs his shoulders, a little frightened. Then she remembers the hole in her chest, how that first night all she could do was curl up on the floor and barely breathe.
"Okay." Bella's trying to sound soothing; she's probably not too good at it. She slides her hands down JD's arms, then takes one of his hands in hers as she stands up. "Come on," she says, trying to pull him toward one of the couches. "Come on, you should lie down."
((OOC: Yeah, I know. :) And yeah, I know. If I didn't know better, I'd say you hated this guy. :D))
