There is a Slayer approaching her friend cautiously. It's been a bad week for everyone - Buffy actually got off the lightest, for once. This is unusual in and of itself.

Buffy slides into the booth opposite Faith, smiling a little (but not too much, that would be bad, it would make it seem like she didn't care about her and Xander breaking up and... Buffy had too many thoughts sometimes). "Hey."

"....hey."

Faith is actually faintly surprised. She was sort of expecting Willow and Buffy to hate her, for breaking up with Xander.

Maybe she doesn't know.

"How've you been?"

"You know. The usual. Vampires. Slaying." Speaking of... She wrinkles her nose a little and brushes a bit of vampire dust off her shirt. She's got to find a way to dust vamps without getting them all over her.

"How about you?"

[faithful_slayer]

"Eh. Went to visit a friend at his house, protected him and his parents from an evil wizard, accidentally prevented genocide. Like you said, the usual."

[shealone_stands]

Buffy considers, then announces, "Yours sounds more fun. Can we trade? You can even have Giles."

[faithful_slayer]

"I don't think you'd really want to. He was human. Mostly."

[shealone_stands]

"Oh." Frown. "Are you okay?"

[faithful_slayer]

"Yeah. I mean, he was threatening to kill my friend's parents after breaking their minds. If I hadn't done what I did....there's some people here from an alternate future of my friend's world, where the dark wizard's still around. They reckon I've saved, like, thousands of lives."

[shealone_stands]

"Well, that's good! Way to go, Faith."

[faithful_slayer]

"Thanks!"

Faith smiles at her, then looks down at the table.

"Have you...uhm, talked to Xander?"

[shealone_stands]

"A little. I go to school with him, you know." Willow's been doing most of the cleanup duty, though. And Xander's seemed oddly skittish around her since the hyena thing.

[faithful_slayer]

"Yeah."

Faith curls up in a ball, resting her chin on her knees.

"Fucking hyenas."

[shealone_stands]

"Want a hug? Or... chocolate or something?" Buffy's not sure how to help, but damnit, she is going to.

[faithful_slayer]

"....yeah. Sure, thanks."

Pause.

"You don't hate me now?"

[shealone_stands]

Buffy scoots around the booth so she can sit next to Faith and put her arms around her shoulders. There is dark chocolate on the table. Because something like this requires dark chocolate.

"Of course not! Why would I hate you?"

"'Cause Xander's your friend and I broke up with him."
