The door opens and a little girl comes crawling into the Inn, followed of course by a vigilant mother.

Laura looks cheerful but a bit tired this morning.

Turning one year old is hard work.

Sara, on the other hand, simply looks cheerful. A New Year tends to to that to people. Collins, having followed her in, quite agrees.

Pepper walks in, three champagne glasses in her hands and a tablecloth over her arm, quickly taking stock of her situation. Dropping them off on a table, her eye is caught by the two boys near the fireplace. Walking over, she smiles. "You're Lily's James, aren't you?"

"I am indeed, and very glad to be so," James replies, grinning. "Hullo, Miss."

"I'm Remus," the other boy introduces himself.

"Oh! You're Sirius' Remus!" Pepper grins. "I've heard quite a lot about you. All good, I promise." She turns back to James. "So, what are the two of you doing?"

Remus grins widely. "Indeed I am, and also very happy about that fact."

James glances at Remus. "We've been discussing something that happened while he and Sirius were split up -- Sirius's very foolish decision, not Remus's--"

"--and I told you, I'm not angry."

[yes_mr_stark]

"Oh, dear." Pepper winces. "That doesn't sound good." Beat. "Not that it will be much help, but is there anything I can do?"

[atamewolf]

"Oh, we're back together now. It's quite all right."

"And I don't intend to make out with my best friend again," James adds ruefully.

Remus gives him a sidelong look. "If you do, may I watch?"

Ever seen a guy sputter into tea? Now you have.

Pepper snickers. "Well, it does happen sometimes, from what I've heard." There's not a hint of irony on her face. Really. "Sounds like everything's alright, though."

[firstpotter]

"Yes, well." James clears his throat. "What can we do for you?"

Pepper shrugs. "I just wanted to say hi, actually." She smiles. "And, well, let you guys know as well that if you need any help with your resistance, that I am more than happy to offer whatever I can."

[firstpotter]

"I'm uncertain what you could do," James says apologetically. "The one we are fighting plans to do his utmost to harm those who do not have magic."

"True, but I do have access to weapons that, well, that your idiot wouldn't know the first thing about." She pauses. "And also, no matter what you're resisting, the resistance needs some organization." Smirk.

[firstpotter]

James laughs softly. "True enough, especially as our resistance leader is borderline senile."

"Oh, dear god." Pepper winces. "How the hell do you expect to get anything accomplished that way? You need some coordination."

[firstpotter]

"Try telling that to the almighty Dumbledore," James says lowly.

Pepper smirks. "Give me ten minutes with the man, and I will." She crosses her arms. "I've delt with a lot of practically-senile idiots in my time."

"Running down our senseless - oops, I mean fearless - leader again, Jamie?"

Sirius comes up behind Pepper and pats her shoulder. "Hullo, Pepper, pet. How are you, then?"
