The door opens and a little girl comes crawling into the Inn, followed of course by a vigilant mother.

Laura looks cheerful but a bit tired this morning.

Turning one year old is hard work.

Sara, on the other hand, simply looks cheerful. A New Year tends to to that to people. Collins, having followed her in, quite agrees.

How about an uncle? Roger somehow stumbled into the Inn early in the morning, and is now sleeping off a hangover on the couch. Or he -was- sleeping off the hangover until a one-year-old started pulling at his pants leg. "mmmmwha?" Sitting up, he blinks at the light, then grins. "Hey, Laura. Happy Birthday, dearling."

She might not be talking yet, but she knows what she wants and that's to be the center of her uncle's attention.

Collins, having stealthily made off with one of Mark's other cameras, begins taking pictures.

Roger leans down, and picks Laura up, bouncing her in his lap. "So, have you been spoiled by everyone back home yet?" If anyone ever tells him, he will totally deny it, however, he's totally enjoying playing with his little niece. What? He can be adorable.

"If she wasn't, we clearly were doing something wrong." Sara ruffles Roger's hair.

"I don't think we were the ones trying to give her a guitar," Collins adds smoothly with a smirk.

"No, you were trying to give her a laptop. She's one."

"So?"

"Hey! People can be musical prodigies when they're really little.... OW!" Laura has taken hold of a bit of Roger's hair and is pulling for all she's worth. "Little brat...."

"I think you've made your point, sweetie," Sara coos, loosening Laura's fingers.

"Very firm, that daughter of yours." Roger makes a face, but shakes his head. "Wouldn't expect anything else out of her, though."

"Considering everyone who is influencing or going to be influencing her? We'll be lucky if she doesn't take over the world." Sara sounds proud.

"Oh, she won't do that. She'll just torment the idiots." Collins sounds like he's plotting something.

Roger cracks up, shaking her head. "No, there won't be any taking over the world. She's a Cohen, Collins, Can you actually see a Cohen taking over the world? She'll just grow up and make the world pissed off, because she'll point out everything that's wrong with it."

"She's also a Sidle," Collins replies with a sidelong look at Sara, "and I think I have a healthy fear of Sidles."

"As well you should."

[rockstardavis]

"Oh, so do I." Roger bounces Laura some more. "Sometimes I wonder why Mark doesn't run in fear."

"Because he knows me," Sara says simply. "And I only use my powers of evil against those who deserve it." So to speak.

"Of course. That's what everyone says." Laura takes hold of his hair again, pulling for all she's worth. "OW! Alright, Laura, alright! I get it!"

"Come here," Sara says, pulling Laura into her lap.

Roger runs a hand through his hair. "She's quite a handful, but she's adorable." Yes, she already has a rockstar wrapped around her little finger.

"Almost as adorable as you," Collins coos in a brattish manner.

Sara snickers.
