Martha Jones is leaving at last.
It's time. Far, past time. She waited as long as she could. Martha has her backpack ready, her antiboitics stocked up, and she's ready.
She's been ready.
Well, she would leave, but she has to say goodbye first to certain individuals. So she waits by the door with an Irish coffee in her steady hand.

"Where have you been?"
Reply
"Out. For once." And then Logan shrugs, because he realizes she'd figured out that much. "And not in Canada either. Some academy for mutant kids."
Reply
"I had guessed that. It's good that you were out. Though I didn't figure you for the school type."
Reply
"Yeah. Well. You're right. I ain't going to it. I'm just there cause some kid thought it'd be a good idea to stow away in my car after I got kicked out of the bar." He shakes his head. "And then some guy called Magneto goes 'n sends his lackey to try and kill me. Next thing I know these mutants in leather outfits with a jet show up and we're headin' for their little school."
He's leaving out the fact that he was unconscious for most of this.

Because he doesn't sound very thrilled about it.

Logan's face goes blank at her other question and folds his arms over his chest as he grumbles the answer (if he could, he wouldn't answer her, but he knows she won't stand for that). "Didn't have a choice. ...was unconscious."
Reply
"Well. That would explain it. I imagine you were fairly upset when you woke up."
Reply
"That's one way of puttin' it. Especially since I woke in some place that looked more like an underground secret... complex than an academy." For all he knew, it was a return to Experiment X. Jean's really rather lucky that he didn't kill her. "Stupid Xavier gets in your head, too. Just talks to you like he's right there, but he's not."

That and he feels like he has to protect that rotten stowaway, who's taken up living at the academy. He doesn't trust these people to do it anyway.

Even Logan realizes he can't stay hidden forever.
He's fairly certain he's tried before.
"So. How's it goin' with you?" A shoddy attempt at a subject change and small talk. He's desperate.

"That all?" He takes in the sigh, the rubbing at her neck. "Don't seem too happy about... the usual."
Reply
"It's nothing. Just... you know. Life."

He's not the most perceptive person, least not when it comes to this, but even he can see through it.
"Just life. That's real... descriptive."
