Molokov had allowed himself to relax. He'd not seen his doppelganger in weeks. He chooses to take it as a good sign, that maybe perhaps he's seen the last of the Master, and he can start to focus on other things.

Naturally, this is when he comes down the stairs and sees the Master surrounded by gadgets.

He swears silently (not that it matters, he's sure the Master's heard him) and looks for the closest available exit.

The Master looks up, before Molokov can walk away. And smiles. It would be friendly if it weren't... well, the Master.

"Hello, Sascha." He does so like using that name. "Did you miss me?"

Ignoring him doesn't work. Neither does lying. And of course, it's pointless to snarl about the nickname.

"No."

If he can keep calm and unemotional, the way he used to do, then perhaps the Master will lose interest.

The Master chuckles softly. "No? That's disappointing. I did miss you, terribly."

Calm and unemotional. He can do that all he likes, but the Master can feel the emotions under the surface, and nudge them ever so gently...

He shudders, involuntarily taking a step back. He can easily believe this, that the Master missed him, if only in the way a cat misses a mouse.

"I am sure you did," Molokov says, his voice pitched just a shade above normal. "You will have to keep missing me."

The Master rolls his eyes a little, giving Molokov a slightly condescending look. "Come now, I'm not going to hurt you. Have a seat."

"No." He is going to walk over to the door and go outside. Now if only his legs would cooperate.

The Master raises an eyebrow, reaches inside his mind, and twists.

"Sit."

And somehow Molokov finds himself in a chair, not at all sure how this happened and hating himself more than he'd ever thought possible.

He smiles brightly again. "Thank you. You see how much easier it is when you do as I say?"

He pauses, frowning down at a circuit on the... whatever it is he's building. It's being problematic and he is not amused. Still, the laser screwdriver is still good for some things around here...

"Whatever have you done without me?"

Molokov glares at the Master. He wants to lash back, with words, if nothing else, but he doesn't want to test the man anymore than he already has. He would like to live, after all.

Live and find a way to kill him, with or without Walter's help.

"Nothing of interest," he answers, finally. Just a multitude of sleepless nights and hazy days, all spent worrying about his increase lack of control over things.

"Oh, well, that's no good," the Master says innocently. "Idle hands are the devil's plaything."

As he assembles his... God knows whatever it is.

"We ought to find something for you to do, hmm?"

Molokov glances uneasily at whatever it is the Master's building. He has a suspicion he's not going to like it when it's complete.

"I need no help from you."

"But I'm being kind and offering it. So you'll be polite and accept it."

Still with that level, friendly smile. He means well! How could he not, with a smile like that?

"I suppose I have no choice." Molokov can only wonder how much he'll suffer for this.

"Oh, don't be ridiculous. Of course you do."

He turns over the instrument he's holding. It's not complete, but it's starting to take shape. A narrow tube, constructed of various metallic components, some of them not from Earth... well, many of them not from Earth.

"You haven't even asked what I'm making." He sounds rather put out.
