Here Inn, have three different, very much infected, people.
Romana has taken up the violin, her eyes closed as she produces a soft, sad song that would sound completely unfamiliar to those from Earth but might ring a bell to a few of the Time Lords out there.
A Gallifreyian song of mourning.
Lucy is positioned in front of a piano, something she hasn’t

It's when he hears soft music from one corner that he goes to investigate.
And he's quite surprised to find Reid is the producer of that music. He'll approach the other, but not speak. Instead, he just listens.

His playing will gain confidence within the next few minutes, cautious notes soon turning to strong, proud melodies as he finds that he’s actually rather good.
A pleased smile will tug at the ends of his lips and oh, if you listen very, very closely, you might even hear singing.
“Have you seen the bright lily grow, before rude hands have touch'd it? Have you mark'd the fall of the snow, Before the earth hath smutch'd it?”

Then again, he also hadn't expected his own lips to form a humming harmony to the words Reid sang. Oh, Rassilon, he hoped he didn't actually start singing the words, too.

"I didn’t notice you were there,” he mutters to the older one as hands move to pluck lightly at the instruments strings.
Even when he’s flustered, he can’t seem to resist.

"I'd say that is my fault, though. I was very quiet upon approaching." Five smiles and glances down to the other's fingers lightly plucking the strings.
"You play quite well." A nod and approving smile.

The compliment makes him smile a little although really, at this point he has surely discovered some new shades of red. “Thank you,” he starts as hands glide over the lute, soft melodies rising to hang between the two.
“I didn’t know I could do this,” he admits, looking up to the other. “I just…Can.”
It strikes him as odd, very odd, but at the same time it’s really quite nice.

Before he knows what he's really doing, he's thought up an instrument of his own and he's playing in key to the light plucking of the other. What sort of instrument, do you ask? Well, a classic flute, of course.
...He has a sneaking suspiscion this is also the doing of a former regeneration, but coherent thoughts don't seem to matter for a brief moment in time.

It never falters, even when he hears the flute chime in and looks up, distracted briefly by what the other has started.
But really all he does is smile and play on because what else can he do? It's what the music wants after all.
Reply
So he will give the flute a slow, fluttering end so that the song Reid is playing continues on seamlessly if he so chooses.
He sets the instrument aside and listens to Spencer's lute, trying to ignore the calling the flute has for him.

"Why'd you stop," he questions then. "It was nice."
It made the music happy.
Reply
He'd stick with that until the music got at him again.
"Besides, listening to you is quite soothing."
Reply
He pauses a moment and shakes his head. "I'm sorry, I just...The music, I need to hear the music."
And he gives the Doctor a worried look because even though it's true, something isn't feeling right.
Reply
"Spencer, you don't..." He reaches out a hand and pats the other's cheek.
Five doesn't like that look on the other's face. He doesn't like it at all.
Reply
"Yeah, I know I don't." Except that he does and even when he tries to stop playing, clenching his hands into fists, he finds that he can't stop playing for too long.
This isn't enjoyable anymore, it's starting to scare him a little really. And yet even then he can hear the music, listen to it as it sings to him that everything is all right, all he has to do is play.
Reply
He doesn't exactly lend himself to safety.
"Here, then. Let's play a bit more then, it won't hurt." He picks up the flute again and starts playing a low, solemn melody. He has his eyes closed and really, the music is starting to take over him, as well.
Reply
But the music distracts him, pulls him away and makes a smile creep into his face.
At first he'll just listen, letting the flute soothe the music a little before his fingers start to burn and he finds himself playing along, although he still lets the Doctor's flute take center stage.
