We Didn't Bring You Here For a Holiday, My Dear...

Svetlana did not want to be in Bangkok. As far as she was concerned, her husband could stay where he was, playing his chess and caressing his mistress. He never once spared a thought for his children or his wife - why should they spare a thought for him?

But the Motherland had decided it wanted their wayward son back, so they dispatched Alexander Molokov to make it happen. And Molokov, in turn, had decided the way to accomplish this was through her.

One cannot refuse the KGB, after all, and so she had flown to Bangkok and been told to make Anatoly see reason.

"Make him think of you, not narcissistic dreams of glory. How many times does he want to be champion, anyway?"

She is full of despair, for it has been years, so she thinks, since her husband has thought of her with any trace of love or affection. He is happier without her. He is where he wants to be.

She leaves Molokov's hotel room and finds herself in a strange place she's never been before. She looks back for the door, but it is gone.

So, Inn, say hello to Svetlana Sergievsky.
