Properly speaking, Christmas doesn't come around for Molokov until January 7th. He recognizes that for most people, it is the 2th, and thus he won't quibble. Much.

There are other things to think about, like the mysterious Christmas tree in his room. He has a very good idea of how it got there and why. He'll have to do something about that, eventually, but not tonight.

There are better things to think about, like his CIA counterpart. Whatever else the Inn has done to him, it has brought him Walter, and for that, he is grateful.

Walter is why he sits in the lobby now, a small package wrapped in silver on the table beside him. Until the other agent comes down, he will drink his tea and even be sociable. It is the season, after all.
