Fancy meeting you here.

Benjamin Sullivan is particularly chipper today, because he has just had an amazing conversation with one particularly sexy Australian. A conversation that may have lead to something just as amazing... in bed. Life is, indeed, looking good. He's drinking a beer at a table and generally, enjoying life.

Angel is here too. He doesn't end up in the ( Read more... )

Angua had been expecting to find Logan in that corner. No reason, she just... felt like having someone to talk to, or just be around, and Logan is easy, everything around him seems simple and uncomplicated. A lot like being around Carrot, actually, without the occasional things about Carrot that both baffle and frighten her.

Instead, she finds someone she doesn't really recognize, with a strange and unsettling scent. She stands there for a while, staring at him, before she realizes just what it is about him - he smells different from vampires in her world, but not enough to throw her off for too long.

Don't mind the young woman staring at Angel and bristling slightly. It's just a natural thing werewolves have about vampires.

Angel raises his eyebrows at the woman. He hasn't been in the Inn much, but from what he'd seen nearly everyone was friendly. Not only friendly, but practically the epitome of friendly.

It was all a little unnerving really.

This woman's reaction felt much more realistic, but still... odd.

"Something wrong?"

"You're a vampire," she says flatly, just barely managing to keep herself from baring her teeth. She'd really hoped there wouldn't be any vampires here, it just made her feel... better about the world when it could be confined to people she liked and trusted.

So much for that.

"And you are... not human. Obviously."

Other than the slayer, humans can only detect a vampire when they're in full fang mode.

Particularly dim witted humans don't get it until they're being drained of blood. Then it's Oh, vampire and death.

"I am most of the month!" she says, a little defensively. "That's more than I can say for you."

"A werewolf."

It's been years since he'd last run into one of them, but he's not really used to the hostility from them. The demon world all mostly coexists with personal vendettas and a couple of species that tend to get way out of hand, but...

Whereas where Angua's from, ancient rivalries between species is more or less the norm. She raises an eyebrow when he comes to the appropriate realization.

"No, a dwarf," she retorts sarcastically. No, she's not at all hostile. What would make you say that?

Angel kind of just well, stares.

He's not one to fight fire with fire, but this is getting ridiculous.

"Have I done something to upset you?"

Yes, he'll just come right out and ask it.

Angua raises an eyebrow at him, tilting her chin up for just a second in an unconsciously aggressive movement. Instincts do not go away easily.

"Not in particular, no." Existing, maybe, but she can let that go. She supposes.

"So you're just always this hostile... is that it?"

Somehow Angel finds that difficult to believe.

"I'm not being hostile. When I'm being hostile, you'll know."

It's just that he's a vampire. And he's got Logan's corner. Those two are bad enough separately. In combination? Yeah.

"Okay. I'll... keep that in mind."

Again with Angel not believing her. He's been around long enough to know when someone doesn't like him, which is often enough.
