Kind of figured that...

He wakes up on Station 5 feeling perfectly fine, and that in itself seems wrong. After all, he'd been... exterminated was the word, wasn't it? Not the sort of thing you come back from. But he feels like nothing ever happened, and there's a pile of dust where the Dalek was...

It doesn't make sense.

Jack's less concerned by that, though, than the fact that the Doctor and Rose are nowhere to be found. That they left him.

They're gone, and he has to wonder what it is he did wrong.

One thing about the Doctor, though, there are certain places and times you're bound to find him, sooner or later. Cardiff or London, early 21st century... It's a damn good thing he's got the Vortex Manipulator.

Jack materializes in the middle of the Inn, one hand on the transporter on his wrist. And then he stops and drops his hands to his sides, more than a little baffled. It's not like he knows everywhere in Cardiff, but this isn't where he was trying to go.

What's even more annoying is that he can't even pinpoint a time period from the decor of the room, the style of clothing some of the people inside it are wearing...

"Damn it!"
