It's the event of the season!

It's the first time something like this has happened in the Inn, and Jane has decided to oblige April's few desires by temporarily changing the season from winter to spring. It's warm, but not too warm, not muddy, there's green and flowers everywhere

There's got to be some chatter before the actual wedding, right?

There is a Slayer in a pretty dress, looking quite cheerful for someone who died just the other day. Or... yesterday, depending on which version of time you're looking at. Hey, her big brother-thing is getting married. Of course she's happy. A little quieter than usual, sure, but that can be excused.

There's no way Angel would miss this. Just because he didn't meet April while they were both alive doesn't make her any less of family.

Steve's a familiar face Angel hasn't run into yet. He's here more for JD, though he's rather fond of April as well.

He doesn't look too good, but he's excited, and it shows.

Bounce bounce hacking cough bounce.

"--Hey, I didn't know you were here."
He really doesn't look good at all - or sound it - but Angel will get to that part later.

[thteve]

Steve just lights up. He and Angel may not've been best friends, but when you get two people SO utterly optimistic and loving, it's hard to keep them from bonding a bit.

"Angel!" Hell with it all, Steve gets up and gives Angel a hug. He's skin and bones, but let's not mind that.

This is... cheering and comforting. If Angel is here, maybe...

Maybe Gordon'll be here, too.

Angel's never been one to turn down a hug. Even if the person giving it is... not in the world's best shape.
"How long've you been around, anyway? And I hope one of the zillion or so doctors around is keeping an eye on you, in that condition."

[thteve]

"Been around for ages, and I'm a friend of the groom, so yeah, he is."

Angel, meet the reason the wedding happened so quickly.

"How long have you been here? And why haven't I seen you?"

"Couldn't answer that one for you - I've been here... something like eight months, I think. And before you ask, yes, Collins knows. He's around here somewhere."
Might as well clear up that point early in, yes?

[thteve]

Good idea.

Steve looks a little wistful. And a lot sad. "That's really great you found each other again. How is he? He moved to New Mexico, right?"

[the_antiangst]

"Yeah, he got that restaurant set up. Not a bad deal, except for when the students who float through foist their proofreading off on him. What's up with you, other than the obvious?"
Steve? This would be the 'and don't try to cover it up' face. Deferring the depressing bits until after the wedding is acceptable, bit don't think Angel won't follow up.

[thteve]

"A... lot." Steve sighs a little, winces, rubs the back of his neck. "Probably not the best time and place to talk about it, though."

He's perfectly willing (sort of) to resume that bit of the conversation after the wedding.

[the_antiangst]

"Fair enough. I'll get back to you for that part later. No sense in getting all depressed right before a wedding."

[thteve]

"Exactly." Steve glances over to where JD and Ben are standing, waiting for the ceremony to start, and smiles a little. "I'm really glad I get to be here for it, though."

He knows that the only reason it's now is because JD wanted him to be here. And he's okay with that.

"I'd bet everybody is, honey."
Angel can at least guess that Steve's condition is most of the reason for the rush.

"So. What have you been up to, anyway? I mean... being dead and all."
