I just had to turn the weekend's
KPop Star Tweets post over at
FANGIRLDIARIES into something Japan-related with the recent and unfortunately ongoing disaster. And while it is still such a sad event, I've seen so many people get together to help. It has, like I mentioned in my
previous entry displayed a rather beautiful side of human beings. While I'm a bit wary of celebrities having to publish how much they donated, I know they're one of the few who can give a huge amount for relief effort.
Speaking of huge amount... actually if this doesn't tug at your heart strings, well I don't know what to say.

So many children are dead, but I cannot help them so I'm sorry. If I had something, I could help them, but I got nothing.
This shook my core and reminded me of what we can do to help. It doesn't have to be a big amount because really small things do matter (try reading Malcolm Gladwell's The Tipping Point to get further proof) because I've witnessed how the support for Japan snowballing into something significant.
The Arashi fangirls have amazingly collected, I believe, up to $10,000 already. Same goes for the Girls Generation fandom. Plus there are a ton of other fandoms chipping in. I hear of auctions being held and people willing to give up something they once regarded as precious.
This just goes to show where compassion and empathy can take you. Now if only the same could be said for what's happening in the Middle East right now...
