Cedric woke with a slight pounding in his head. This in itself wasn't new. He'd had some practise with this sensation during Kirley's tour. And it had become quite a familiar experience most of last week. In fact, familiar enough that out of habit Cedric checked his personage to see what had been pierced, jabbed, stolen or added on this time. To his relief, nothing else had changed. Then to his embarrassment, he remembered that he was home again and didn't have to worry about being taken advantage of whilst in a drunken stupor.
Well, for now at least. Who knew what'd happen once he'd joined up with the tour again.
Kirley. Gods, he missed him. And his family and friends. And some of his naivety.
Stumbling out of bed for the loo, Cedric tried to get his sluggish mind to work again. He remembered stepping into the Leaky, relieved and exhausted. Tom, or at least someone with a bald head, had given him a drink on the house. The details from there were fuzzy, but obviously he'd made it back home all right. Looking in the mirror, he could tell he'd at least showered before collapsing in bed, although he hadn't bothered to shave yet. Briefly he studied himself. It still surprised him some that he looked the same. Well, not exactly the same, but at least he was still male. He caught a flash of reflected light. Unwillingly, his eyes were pulled down towards his right pectoral muscle. Cedric knew there were plenty of men, masculine ones even, who sported... nipple rings. That didn't make that little gift any less embarrassing, however. He sighed and fidgeted, then felt a coolness stirring at the small of his back, reminding him of his other 'gifts' from the past week. He contemplated what he was going to do about them. The earrings and the... nipple ring, he'd remove soon. The beads in his hair.... well, he had to admit that he'd become a bit superstitious recently. The claim that they were good luck amulets could be bogus, but there was enough coincidence to leave him leery. As for Rosey... well, he could admit to himself that she was kind of growing on him. Quite possibly literally. He'd have to think about it. But first, he had to think about what else happened last night.
Cedric contemplated attempting a shaving spell. He didn't feel quite focused enough, however, so he shrugged and accepted the fact that he'd be scruffy for another day. He pulled his hair back into a pony tail, then went to find something to wear. He threw on lounge pants and an old jumper before shuffling into the living room. Spotting an abandoned quill and parchment on the coffee table filled in a few gaps for him. That's right, he'd managed a couple of letters. Cedric stared owlishly at the pile, attempting to remember just who he'd written. Probably his parents, as worried as they'd be. Then likely Kirley, in case that bird hadn't found him. After that, he'd guess-
Suddenly, the fireplace roared to life, causing Cedric to squawk and jump up on the couch. He stared like a stunned fish as a figure came out of the Floo flames. Just as suddenly, he remembered having a brief conversation via owls with Mandy, saying that she was going to come over this morning to see him. For a second, Cedric relaxed. Until he got a good look at the young man who was squealing his name and running straight for him. He had just enough time to think, "Damn hex," before he was pounced with enough force to send him backward onto the cushions. After much flailing of limbs and more squealing, Cedric merely gave into the enthusiastic greeting and laughed, despite the awkwardness of the situation. Or simply because of it. Truly, it didn't matter.
"Hullo, Duckie. I missed you too," he chuckled and hugged back.
