Despite the lead they'd been given, Theo, Terrence, and Luna hadn't been able to just pick up and leave just like that. With both Theo and Terrence co-owners of an up-and-coming company, they had a lot of things to smooth out before they could leave (they might've had a brilliant company, but it didn't actually run itself, after all), and Luna had her own things to deal with, including an adventure upcoming for the weekend that Terrence understood had something to do with moon frogs, but was rather hazy on otherwise. Even with Theo's life on the line, they couldn't just drop everything and go; fortunately, that meant he'd had time to do some more research based on the information he'd gotten from Jeremy, and he'd even gotten another owl from another of his contacts with additional information that he likely would've missed if they'd left for Djenné already.

In any case, there was a fair amount of unfinished business to sort out before the questing could commence. Though, to be honest, not all of it was of the paperwork-and-moneymaking kind. There was a question as to how long they'd be gone, something they weren't sure about, and for sure they'd be in a constant state of work-work-work for as long as it took to sort out the curse, so they didn't know when they'd next be able to relax. In addition, there was still some...small amount of paranoia as to whether Theo would even.... Not that they were thinking about it, but logically they had to consider all possibilities, including worst-case scenario. And maybe that was the reason they found themselves back here, the Phaeton rolling up toward Theo's manor in Herts, a place that had such amazing and also such painful memories associated with it, and yet the place where they'd first really.... Well. They had a lot of history there, in any case, and not just of the ice-castle-and-Thestral-ride variety.

A memory of showing up at the door that very first day floated to the forefront of Terrence's mind, and he laughed, a choked, abortive sound, before shifting closer to Theo and lacing their fingers even more tightly. It seemed like a lifetime ago that he'd been that person, long ago in a world far far away, and if you'd've told that Terrence that this was where he'd be in less than a year's time, he would have...Terrence didn't know what he would've done. Not believed it, in any case. And yet, here they were.

"Here we are," he said quietly, turning to look up at Theo with a small smile on his face.

terrence, theo
