Ernie had come home late last night, dashing Hannah's hopes to introduce him to the group of Muggles she'd become tight friends with over the past few months. On Saturday morning, she called all of them and arranged to meet at one of their favourite pubs for lunch, dragging Ernie along with her. They'd met at The Good Mixer, despite the state of the lavatories, and had a brilliant pub lunch, Hannah keeping an unobtrusive eye on Ernie and whether or not he was all right with this. Hannah's friends were an odd mix, some more trendy, some more hippy, some more punk, with varying degrees of table manners and polite language. She was having fun, though, having missed them the past few nights, and fell into lunch and the discussion (everything from the current European Union situation to whether or not Blur was better than Oasis) with a smile.
Lunch lasted a couple of hours, a multitude of dishes and pint-glasses, and Hannah's friends left one-by-one, saying that it was nice to meet Ernie, that they'd have to do this again, that they'd all be at the Underworld that night if Ernie and Hannah wanted to join them.
Once everyone was gone, Hannah sipped her third pint of cider, and smiled unsurely at Ernie. "I know they can be a bit...overwhelming, but they liked you. Else they wouldn't have invited you along tonight. What do you...I mean, did they seem...was it all right?"
