Storylines:
Note: Unless underlined, these storylines are still UNVERIFIED!!!

The Mentor: [taken: Xavier]
Jean Grey's hero worship for Xavier is common knowledge. The man was an inspirational leader to a whole generation of mutants, and Jean has known him since her powers first manifested. Though Xavier isn't at the school any more, his presence is still felt and Jean does all she can to keep his legacy alive and well at the school. She's come to trust Xavier's advice above all else, and probably doesn't realize that being placed in charge of the school while he's gone is just another of the lessons he's trying to teach her: self-reliance.

The Inner Circle: [taken: Founding and long-term X-Men]
Jean's teammates are easily her best friends. The X-Men have been through hell and back and they've stuck together through it all. The roster has chagned over the years, but the core group iwll always have a special place in Jean's heart. Sure, they may have their differences and they may not all be looking for the same things in life right now, but when the chips are down Jean will always turn to her former teammates for support: either physical support or even just advice.

The Leading Man: [open - probably Scott]
Hey, look: it's bound to happen. As much as the kids would rather not think of their teachers in that context, the fact is that even though they're 'old' there's still romance - or the potential for romance - going on. Although Jean's priorities right now are the School and its students, she's reaching an age where society, biology and her nagging mother are all starting to think she should be settling down with a man. And like it or not, Jean's starting to feel the same way, which is why she's looking to make this relationship work.

The Lieutennant: [held - Skids]
When Xavier left the Institute, he placed Jean in charge - but he also appointed an assistant for her. Ostensibly, this is someone Xavier appointed to help Jean handle the task of running the school - much like she had been for him. But instead of assigning someone like Hank or Scott, Xavier chose a younger X-Man, someone who wouldn't mind mixing things up a little at The House That Charles Built. Needless to say, Jean and Sally don't always see eye to eye when it comes to changes at the Institute. She would much rather not have things change and somewhat resents the fact that Sally questions things. Still, Jean trusts Sally and is willing to listen to her, even if she'll be a stubborn grump about it.

The Rival: [open - OH HAI EMMA]
Maybe she's just gotten too used to monopolizing the 'girl on the team' spot or maybe she's just jealous of a (probably younger) woman, but Jean has a Rival and she's not exactly thrilled about it. It could be because of how different they are or - deep down - because of how similar they are, but Jean and her Rival do not get along. Like, at all. There may be hair pulling if they're not careful. She does her best to remain polite and cordial in mixed company, but you don't have to be a telepath to know that the temperature drops a few degrees when these two are in the same room.

The Wild Side: [open - OH HAI LOGAN]
Straight-laced Jean Grey has always been an upstanding member of the team and a role model for all. Even if she isn't always prim, she's almost always proper and doesn't often cut loose and party with others. In fact, some might say that she's a stick-in-the-mud - maybe not as bad as some *cough*Scott*cough* but certainly not enjoying life as much as she should. The exception, though, is The Wild Side who is able to get Jean to throw caution to the wind and maybe even let her hair down. This person brings out a more fun loving Jean Grey: one who isn't afraid to joke around and do shots and generally remember that being a grown up doesn't always mean being boring.

The Best Friend: [open - One of the founders]
Though Jean is close with all of her teammates, she has an extra closeness with this person, who could easily be considered her best friend. She's known them forever and they've seen each other at their best and at their worst. This is someone Jean will always tell her troubles to and go to for advice on personal matters. Or even just spend hours with, talking about past excapades or old friends and foes. She would do anything for this person, and will always help them out of a tough spot if she's able to - and though she'd never outright expect them to do the same, she knows that they've got her back no matter what.

The Girlfriend(s): [open - Ororo perhaps?]
X-Men are all fine and good and while Jean's got a number of close friends who are guys? Let's face it: there are times when you've just got to have some Girl Talk. Fortunately, that's where the girlfriend - or girlfriends - come in. When Jean just needs to gush about the latest movie starring a Hollywood leading man, or just talk with someone who understands the theraputic value of shoe shopping and a day at the spa, she turns to The Girls to make it all better.

The Ward: [held - Bobby?]
This is one of the students that has earned a special place in Jean's heart, even though she wouldn't readily admit it. Maybe she sees a younger version of herself reflected in this student or they simply charmed her with their attitude and antics. Jean sees that the Ward has potential and wants to help them realize it fully.

The Secret: [taken: CLASSIFIED]
As far as most people are concerned, Ms. Grey is squeaky clean with no real secrets or mysteries about her past. She was a member of the X-Men for years, after all, and their antics were all pretty public - at least towards the end. In the beginning, though, there were times when the X-Men weren't around - or when the roster changed. Everyone knows what happend when Marvel Girl was gone shortly before returning as Phoenix - recovering from a shooting is never fun. But there was another, less publicized absence of over half a year back when the X-Men were starting out. Jean Grey dropped off the radar and although X-Men of the time knew that Professor Xavier had sent her to a specialist overseas to work on honing her powers, no one ever really got all the details of where she went and what she did while she was gone...
