It took me a while until I thought that I mi~ght have made this into a somewhat presentable version [At least it sounded Engrlish the last time I read through it >.O] *laughs*
I got the interview straight from the magazine itself. Translation is obviously done by me.
I don't think I can say anymore than "I tried", so please enjoy~♪
Please do not repost anywhere though. I think this is far too un-faulty to be posted anywhere else than my journal, and even if you'd post it anywhere else, link and credit the shame back to me right here,
outori, alright? |D
Well, here you go.

Interview by ERI MIZUTANI
UnsraW
GUILTY
Last year in August, UnsraW accomplished a splendid come-back, however after it, they had to struggle with ups and downs for a long time. Why, because members were retiring. I think that an activity with neither guitarist nor bassist is unbelievably harsh. However this time, the new born UnsraW will be born publicly. How the new members joined, and of what kind their latest work is, with focus on these two questions, we will now press the band for answers!
ーーYou have a new set-up?
Yuuki: UnsraW had their come-back last year August the 22nd at the live in Takadanobaba AREA, however unfortunately, right after it, our guitarist Rai retired. Because our situation at that time was as such that we didn’t even have a bassist, we were in a pretty critical situation. However, it was good luck, that Jin, who had been our support, joined as official member. And then we were introduced to Madoka by an engineer, and so it turned out to the present set-up.
ーーSo that was how it started.
Yuuki: With that meaning, you get that feeling of that we finally had our arrangements put into order, ne.
ーーSo UnsraW literally had a revival. By the way, it seems that after the new members had joined, Yuuki-san had quite some conditions.
Madoka: Usually, he’d tell us things like “Have thirty songs memorized by tomorrow, ne” (laughs). But since you can feel motivation from such people, to me, it was grand. Besides, I was deceived by the sharp glint in Yuuki’s eyes.
Yuuki: Did I look at you like that? (laughs) Well, I’m able to fool around with him, so it’s fun. Concerning Jin-chan, he’s someone with a lot of eagerness about him. From the very start, it didn’t feel as if he were just a support.
Jin: There was also that, what we were trying to achieve was quite similar from the start, ne.
Yuuki: It feels as if he, just like Madoka, was fitting in naturally. He doesn’t say very much, but he is a man with an enthusiastic will.
Jin: From the time on when I was a support, I wanted to become an official member. I’m extremely happy about how it is now.
Yuuki: Only a little bit of time has passed since these members gathered together, but I think that we can be spending very rich times.
ーーWith your new work “GUILTY”, we’re definitely being assured about what kind of sounds the five of you make.
Tetsu: So you say you gave it a proper listen?
ーーI did!
Yuuki: (laughs) The recording of this time’s mini-album itself was fun, but at the same time it was extremely harsh. The first and the last tracks have become SEs, however, them being ignored as simple SEs is something I absolutely hate. Therefore I included lyrics for them, too, and treated them as one song.
ーーAll the more because of that do the other songs become active, ne. In “SALIVA OF GOD” and “ROSE OF SORROW”, you entirely push out that intensity which is your speciality, while one could say that in “GUILTY” and “WITHERING BLOOD” you challenged a new area.
Jin: Because we didn’t want to destroy UnsraW’s worldview, we put greater value into the intention of the writer, than putting individuality into the front.
Yuuki: If I were to say it, it’s a feelings as if the six songs are one.
Madoka: To me, everything was still unknown, but from making sounds or something, with Yuuki’s advice as basis, things were built up.
Tetsu: Further, no matter whether we were sleeping or awake, there was pre-production.
Yuuki: If it wasn’t good, I’d relentlessly send it back. In any case, what I just really didn’t want, was giving in. Especially the song with the same name as the title, “GUILTY”, was like that, ne.
Tetsu: But I wonder, wasn’t this “not giving in-ness” connected to persuasive power?
Shou: Of course. As there are also vehement songs among them, I came to hit the bass-drum in ways like never before.
ーーThat is, so to speak, an approach as making the audience think they were at a live.
Shou: I myself did the recording entirely with a good feeling about it, so I didn’t even get stuck on it, but, as new born UnsraW, no matter which song, we valued our world view more than we have done up to now.
Yuuki: Because this time everyone individually had a pretty strong determinations, ne. I myself had hurdles to conquer to a very great extent, too. But I guess one could say that through conquering those so called hurdles, I could make good songs. I don’t know whether I can say it, but I think it’s an excellent work.
ーーSo I guess, that by the work that could be seen there, one can see what ideal UnsraW from now on have?
Yuuki: Yeah, there’s that. Also when I myself was thinking about it as a listener, I thought ‘This piece is interesting…’. I do have that self-confidence of that we’re being thought of as being a band who constantly release good stuff, ne. Because of that, I really have no regrets about this album.

Seems like UnsraW had the honour of deflowering me in respects of interview-translations as well *laughs*
Well, I hope you enjoyed, and in case you have questions, or if there's anything left unclear, don't hesitate to get back to me. I might be able to help make things... clearer.
Also, if you happen to come across recent interviews by UnsraW that I happened to overlook, just send them over, I'll do my best and try and translate them.
And I should probably go to bed, my skills in expressing myself are getting messy. Redundant mess is redundant. And messy.
