I was reading stuff on Diana Gabaldon's website about how she got started on her tremendous Outlander series (the newest book of which, A Breath of Snow and Ashes was just released and is muchly expensive) and she mentioned this old epsiode of Dr. Who as the inspiration for the whole thing:

I went to a signing a few years back where she spoke for a great length. She was very interesting and entertaining. She signed my hardcover of Drums.

And this comment was sooo boring I might have to hide my head in shame.
