But occasionally people don't get this message, and once someone who'd traveled all that way refused to have Ion read their Score when he met him, because obviously this GIRL was not the Fon Master!! This was actually . . . not so hilarious in that being seen as someone entirely different from Fon Master Ion pinged his identity issues, and it gave him sort of a guilty happiness until he reminded himself that it wasn't true. But he told the rest of the Order that it was that person's choice to believe what he wanted, and he wouldn't read the man's Score if that was his wish.
Then that person MYSTERIOUSLY fell down the steps on their way out of the cathedral, and Ion never once suspected Anise of secretly tripping him. :) :) He received minor bruises and returned the next year to apologize and get an actual reading.
2. This is a mix of canon and headcanon! Lyserg was more reluctant to join them than they were to have him. He never liked injuring Ren and Horohoro, so when he lost anyway, he felt like he'd done a terrible thing for nothing, and being on their team was the last thing he deserved. But then Ren had to hit his weakness by bringing up that they were also after Hao. They all got along well after that, and Lyserg really was happy to have made friends -- but he still felt like he, personally, didn't deserve it. That was how he felt up until (and some time after) he ditched them for the X-Laws, and part of the reason he was so quick to do it.
Of course, due to continuous Jesusing, he doesn't feel that way so much anymore. Mostly.
